Gran was unsure when he had woken up. He could feel the sunlight trying to seep in from behind his closed eyes. It was morning.

 

"Just a few more minutes..."

 

He wasn't late for anything. If he had been, Lyria or Vyrn would have been shaking him awake by now. They often didn't have to, and Gran was hoping that it wouldn't come down to that today either, but right at this moment he simply wanted to keep lying here and think about that dream. The dream in which he... he...

 

Gran's eyebrows furrowed as he tried to focus on the dream. The memories of it were already getting hazy, but one thing he did remember. It was the one detail that had been ever-present and highly memorable: everyone was a giant compared to him. Everything was gigantic too. It was like he was the odd one out, the anomaly, in that world of titans.

 

It reminded Gran of one of the fairy tales that Vyrn had read to him when he was a child. It was about Ryugotarou, a small boy who had born out of an apple. He left his home to become an adventurer, facing dangers and making friends along the way until he finally earned his happy ending by slaying a demonic dragon. In the hindsight, it must have had some impact on him, seeing how unfazed he was to face against massive beings on a regular basis.

 

"Still... What a life that would be..."
