The Manager Spots Jack Winning Her Back chapter 7 by northgate_1

The manager of the store where Lydia works sees Jack trying to move along the wall to get somewhere safe so he can contact Lydia.  She quietly walks over and scoops him up carrying him to the office in the back as she tells the other employees "I need to go do reporting and ordering in the office."  She goes into a small office which has just enough room for filing cabinets and a small desk and sits down.

She opens her hand and Jack spills out onto the desk and she looks down at him.  "Aren't you a curious little thing." she says.  Jack looks up at her and she appears to be in her early thirties with her brunette hair pulled back in a pony-tail.  "So what are you?" she muses to herself out loud.

Jack says "I'm a person like you just smaller.  I got shrunk and I was trying to get to my friend Lydia to help me get restored to normal.  Can you go get her?"

The manger laughs and replies "So you can talk too but you aren't like me.  You are an itty bitty tiny man sneaking around in my store.  Now the next question is what to do with you." 

Jack tells her "I told you.  I need you to get Lydia back her to help me.  It's taken me days to get to her and I'm so close."

She gave Jack a poke in the chest knocking him on his ass, "Listen, men are always telling me what to do.  I'm sick of it and I'm not taking orders from some little man.    Now I never heard of anyone shrinking down before so I'm guessing you are pretty unique."

"That's probably true" Jack replies hoping not to piss her off anymore and get her help. 

"That's what I thought" she continued "Do know how much the manager of a Cinnabon makes.  Not enough to buy a new car.  Now here you come in my store, a one of a kind little man.  I think I have a much better idea.  How about I sell you and make some good money for once."

"You can't do that.  I'm a person.  You can't sell me" Jack yells at her.

The manger whose name tag Jack now sees says Kathy pushes him down again and grabs his ankles lifting him upside down in the air up to her face.  "Yes I can" she tells him with her hot breath washing over him.  I have a friend who is an attorney and she has some very wealthy clients.   I think we need to go to visit her and see what I can get for you."

"No you can't do that" Jack yells but Kathy gets her handbag and drops Jack inside zipping it up.   "I bet I can get at least $50K for the little squirt." as she says as she gets her coat on and gets ready to leave the store.  As she walks back out to the front, she says to Lydia, "I need to go out for a few hours.  We shouldn't be too busy today so you're in charge."

She leaves the store and goes to her car where she calls her friend and they agree to meet at her office.  She drives over and Jack continues to yell at her but the car radio drowns him out even if she would have heard him buried in her bag.

Jack hears her driving and then going into an office and eventually in an inner private room.  He hears her say "I have something very valuable that I think one of your clients might like but it's a tad shady.  We are going to have to keep it confidential."

Her friend says "What is it, some hot jewelry or precious metals.  I don't know if I want to get involved in this."      

"This is much better and definitely one of a kind." Kathy tells her as she opens her purse and takes you out.  "Check out my little friend.  I think someone might like to do a private adoption of him."  

Jack looks up at Kathy and then her friend a very good looking tall professional looking red head in her thirties.  "She kidnapped me.  I'm a normal person trying to get to my friend at her store."   

The lawyer pets him on his head with her manicured finger and says "Kidnapping is a very strong word.  You are far to small to take care of yourself.  We are just looking out for your best interests to get you the care you need."  She turned to Kathy and says I have a couple friends that may be able to help him and give you some compensation for your time.  What were you thinking your time is worth?"

Kathy says "I'd like $100 grand but I guess I'd go as low as 50K.  I need a new car and some extra cash."

Her lawyer friend says "I see.  I have a couple possibilities that come to mind.  I have a good client, a divorcee that just got a huge settlement.  She just told me she's done with marriage but would still like some company.  I have another client in here this morning that mentioned she needed a unique gift for her daughter's sweet sixteen.  Not sure if a little naked man works in that case but she has more money than she know what to do with.  I also was representing this heiress that loves buying one of a kind things.  She's such a bitch but she'd definitely be interested.  Let me make some calls and get back to you."

Kathy drops Jack back in her bag and zips it up.  Jack hears her friend say "I can keep this confidential and your name out of it but I'm going to need 20% of the deal and that's my friends and family discount."

"No problem" Kathy tells her as long as I can clear at least 50K but I'd prefer more.  I know you'll work this for me."   

Her friend replies "Don't worry.  Worse case I'll swap you my Mercedes for him.  Might be fun having a little pet man."

Kathy leaves the office and goes back to the store.  She keeps Jack in her bag in the office for safekeeping until it's closing time.
