Billy let out a quiet yelp as his mother's giant foot swept across him. Her big toe slapped him across the face, before moving to his back. The first and second digits of the hulking appendage grabbed the trembling boy's oversized t-shirt, and with that his escape was thwarted. As the foot dragged him back towards its owner's chair, Billy's ragged cries went unheard as laughter erupt from above the table.

In the real world, Britany had told an unexpected joke. As the family laughed, Patricia dragged her right slipper beneath her. As she sipped her coffee, she absent-mindedly poked at the footwear, noticing it felt a bit off. She was just about to look under the table to see what was wrong when her cellphone began to ring.

Immediately, thoughts of footwear were dropped and Patricia looked up, noticing that she had left her phone on the counter when she was making breakfast. She slid her foot back into its slipper and stood up.

"AH--!!"

Britany perked up as her mom stepped from the table. She could've sworn she heard something, like a squeak that was cut off. She turned to her sister. "Did you hear that?" Kaitlin responded with a non-committal grunt and shrug, barely looking up from her phone.

Patricia answered the phone, leaning against the counter and sliding her right foot in and out of its slipper.

"Hello?"
