Chapter 16
Suddenly, light surges through the purse as the girl unzips it. She gently scoops you out and holds you up to her smiling face in her soft palm. You squint in the light after being in darkness for so long.
"Don't worry little guy. Your eyes will adjust soon." says the girl sweetly.
"Wh-where am I. Where's Dina??" you ask, disoriented.
"Don't worry sweetie, she's long gone. You're in Sydney" the girl says in a caring tone.
You slowly regain your eyesight and sure enough you're being held in front of the girl's IMAX sized face with a Welcome to Sydney sign in the background. You also see that you're in a fairly quiet part of the airport.
"S-Sydney??" you ask, flabbergasted.
"Yeah, I live here. I had a layover in Dubai and I think that's where Dina lives. I tried to talk with you there but you were passed out in my purse and I didn't want to disturb you."
You smile at the girl, happy that she was so considerate.
"Anyways, I think a proper introduction is in order. My name is Heidi. I was coming home from my first solo vacation in America when I found you. I was so worried when I told that woman that I hadn't seen you. I was sure she was going to find out." say the girl.
"My name is Ken" you reply. "As you know I was going on vacation with my mom when Dina kidnapped me. I can't thank you enough for saving my life."
"Don't mention it. No tiny should be eaten. Especially one as adorable as you." smiles Heidi, stroking you with her finger.
"Th-thanks" you say awkwardly, enjoying Heidi's affection.
Heidi smiles and giggles at your awkwardness. She thinks that you're the cutest boy she's ever met, normal or tiny.
