Don't be so judgmental! She's nice. My name is Jill Tiny chapter 21 by copier · original author: jinxed_myself

She smiled and shifted the car into drive. Reaching forward, she fiddled with the stereo and Skillet's Hero played through the speakers and adjusted the temperature of the air.

"Y'all must be freezing. Poor little things. What are you two doing out this late and in this weather? Your folks must be worried sick!" She glanced at the pair when Tyler sneezed several times. "Are y'all cold? Just tell me! Honestly, I'm not going to eat either of you. Hold on a sec'." She pulled over to the curb and parked the car again before unbuckling her seatbelt. She turned around, digging through the junk-filled backseat before dropping a clean black sock in their laps. "Here. It's clean, I promise. I always keep a couple extra pair in the car in case I need them. Dry off then you can warm up under this shirt." The redhead dragged out a pale blue t-shirt with stylized writing on the front of it and gently tucked it around the little pair before buckling back up and taking off again. "What are your names? You're both so quiet. Kids your age should be talking your heads off."

Jill sniffled and snuggled closer to Tyler under the t-shirt. "I'm Jill. This is Tyler. We went to a 'normal' school today. It was awful. Everyone there was just absolutely horrible." She sniffled again as she recapped their story, completely skipping hers and Tyler's little tryst and ending with their "expulsion" and the betrayal by Marissa. "So, we were going to sleep in that doll house but were scared of sleeping too late in the morning and getting thrown out with the trash."

Tyler picked up the last bit of their tale from that point. "We were crossing the road to see if we had better luck on the other side of the neighborhood when you came barreling down the road." He sneezed a couple times as the warm air continued thawing him out. The small human tried to smile a little at the woman. "I guess we kinda did. If you hadn't come along, we would still be stuck in the rain."

"Well, I'm Jacey and y'all have had an absolutely horrible day! That's just terrible." She reached out and gently ran her thumb across the tops of their heads, giggling slightly when it messed up their hair. "It's way too late to make any calls tonight but in the morning you can call your parents and I'll take you home. Tonight you're more than welcome to stay with me. I don't have any roommates so it's just me and my laptop." She winked. "You should be fine. And we'll find something to clothe you in when we get there. Poor dears."

Jill and Tyler didn't appreciate Jacey messing up their hair, but they supposed it was better than other things she could have done. As they warmed up, they snuggled down together and eventually drifted off to sleep. The next thing their sleep-fogged minds knew, the shirt they were covered in was wrapped around them and they were lifted into the air. The chilly evening air began to seep through the thin cotton before they were tucked in beside the young woman's chest and covered by her jacket again. Their world shook and jiggled a bit as she walked and--from the sound of her footsteps--climbed a set of stairs. The two tinies clung to each other and the shirt, trying not to get nauseous.

They blinked as light flooded their world and they were set down on a coffee table in what looked like an efficiency apartment. In one corner of the room, a queen-sized bed with a Texas-themed bedspread. The deep burnt-sienna color was set off by the dark brown of the Laredo-style star around the edge of the bedding. The bed was messy, as if it had been slept in recently, and the decorative pillows were tossed to the foot of it.

Jacey kicked off her boots and dumped them in the closet before shrugging out of her jacket. That she hung up on a faux-wooden coat rack with the words "Cowgirl Up!" written in curly, bright pink letters. She dropped her phone and keys in a little tray beneath the plaque before turning to the little pair on her coffee table. She smiled again and dropped to her knees beside them.

"You have your choice of where to sleep. One, with me in the bed. I promise I'm a light sleeper and don't toss and turn much. Or, two, you can sleep in the recliner. I've got extra blankets and things so you won't fall out." She puffed her bangs out of her eyes. as she watched the little pair.

Jill and Tyler looked at each other, silently trying to read what the other wanted. Finally, they turned back to their hostess and Tyler announced their decision.

"We'll sleep in the...
