Kelly had questions about Jill and Jackie and like any young child she couldn’t resist blurting them out. “Are there more little people besides Jill and Jackie, were they born small or made that way, do little people live in dollhouses, do they have to wear doll clothes or do they have tiny clothes makers, do they have special powers like the little people on TV……” Kelly asked all these questions before Cindy interrupted.
“Kel calm down now in order yes there are other little people, their born that way, I don’t know if they live in dollhouses I would think some would, I guess they have little tailors or something that make their clothes, and no they do not have special powers” Cindy stopping to take a breath. “Any more questions?” she added slightly annoyed.
Kelly looked around the room and spotted the toilet “how do they go potty?” she asked curiously.
Cindy rolled her eyes beginning to get annoyed with her sisters stream of questions, Jackie was also annoyed she had come across similar questions from her little brothers friends, Jill however found all these questions adorable and would gladly answer any of them as best she could “Some of us have little potty’s in our houses Kelly but the ones that don’t find ways to manage” she said.
“Neat” said Kelly looking at Jill it was then that she first noticed the cuts both Jill and Jackie had “hey how did you guys get hurt?” She asked innocently. The three teen girls in the room fell silent and Kelly looked at them confused clearly something was wrong. “What?” she asked.
“Kelly…” Cindy began.
“No it’s ok Cindy” she told her friend. “Kelly today I found out that my mom is doing something bad and she made me and Jackie do something horrible” said Jill.
“That sounds just like that boy in my class who kept coming to school with bad owies” said Kelly. “His daddy was hurting him and then a few weeks later the he said some people took him to a foster family” she went on. “I asked my teacher and she said that kids whose parents get them hurt need help and need to be taken care of by other people” said Kelly. She then seemed to have an idea strike her and excitedly asked her sister “hey Cindy lets be Jill’s foster family”.
Cindy looked at Kelly like she was crazy “Kelly she needs to go home” she said.
“But she said her mommy made her do something that got her hurt” Kelly argued.
Jill thought about all this for a moment she did have a lot of mixed feelings about her mother right now perhaps it would be easier at least for now to stay with Cindy but on the other hand sooner or later she would have to face her mother.
