A Glorious Death Part V My name is Jill Tiny chapter 24 by copier · original author: rainman1131

It was Major Kurtz who broke the silence. She began to clap her hands slowly, the self-satisfied smirk still on her face. "Bravo."

Jill felt her bloody hands ball into fists. She strode up to the doorway and stared up at Major Kurtz. "Shut your mouth, Kurtz." Jill's voice was steely and low, but loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.

The major stopped applauding. She looked down at Jill, incredulous. "What?" The ghost of a smile played across the major's lips. "What did you say to me?"

"I said," Jill placed one of her feet casually atop the toe of the major's boot, looking up. "Shut the Hell up, Kurtz. I'm gonna be your boss someday. You read me okay now, soldier?"

Major Kurtz's mouth hung open. She looked to Jill's mom. "Ma'am, are you going to let this little-"

Mrs. Keeper raised her eyebrows. "Yes, Kurtz?" she asked, placing her hands behind her back. "You wanted to say something?"

Major Kurtz looked like she wanted to be someplace else. "No, ma'am."

"Right," Mrs. looked down at Jill and Jackie, smiling warmly at both girls, but saving the best for her daughter. Jill basked in the glow for a moment, thinking it was probably the first time her mother had ever really been proud of her. Actually, Jill thought, there was no 'probably' about it.

Then Jill came out of her 'happy moment'. This, Mom, she thought, this is what it takes to make you proud of me? You are one twisted, screwed-up bitch.

"Okay, girls," Mrs. Keeper said briskly. "Go and finish off the rest. There are thousands of the little buggers in there."

Jill shook her head. "No."

"What?"

Jill walked over to stand in front of her mother. "I said no, Mom. The battle's over. That's it."

"Why, Jill, honey, that's ridiculous! You haven't killed even a tenth of them! Now do what I say!"

Jill sighed. "Mom, you wanted to see if I had the stomach to deal with the little people, deal with them harshly, if necessary. I did that. There's no point in killing the rest. We can use them in the labs. No reason to waste them."

Mrs. Keeper tented her hands over her mouth. "Jill, I don't know..."

Jill waved her little hand dismissively. "Sure you do, Mom. Part of this was a test of my leadership and decision- making . I mean, if you just want a trained monkey who can follow orders," Jill pointed a finger to the other side of the doorway. "You got Kurtzie here for that."

Major Kurtz, looking as they she might literally explode any minute, was at least bright enough not to open her mouth this time.

Jill mimed a kiss up to the fuming major.

Jill glanced at Jackie for a moment, who was staring at Jill as though she had no idea who this little hellcat was.

You're so cool, mouthed Jackie.

The hint of a smile touched Jill's lips, then she looked back up at her mom. "You know I'm right, Mom.'

Mrs. Keeper started to smile, shaking her head a little. "You know something, Jill, I think you are. That's looking at the bottom line, honey. I think you're going to do well here, Jill."

Jill smiled sweetly up at her mother, hoping her face didn't betray how she truly felt about this murdering bitch. "Thanks, Mom." The words felt like turds in her mouth. She turned to the major. "Kurtzie, untie my friend."

Jill, turning for a last look at the battlefield, sensed rather than saw Major Kurtz looking to Mrs. Keeper for confirmation of the order. Jill sighed loudly. "Kurtz, I swear to God, if you don't untie Cindy right now, and I mean immediately, you will be scrubbing toilets in this place within the hour."

Not turning around, Jill waited until she heard Cindy's relieved gasps as her gag was removed.

Jill looked down on the battlefield. "Goodbye, Lisa." Jill said softly, just loud enough for Jackie to hear. "Farewell, Valkyrie."
