Jill's the boss My name is Jill Tiny chapter 14 by copier · original author: rainman1131

Jackie stepped quickly down the tiny set of stairs, then jogged over to the line of walking teens. She came up next to the pretty blond girl at the end, and got in step at her side.

"So," the dark-haired woman asked. "I know you, don't I?"

Jill glanced briefly to the side, offering Jackie a slight smile. "Yep."

Jackie frowned, turning to look directly into the young blond's face. "You going to make me play twenty questions?"

Jill stopped walking, then turned to face the older woman. "No, I guess not, Jackie." The girl suddenly leaned into Jackie, closing her arms around her in a tight hug. A bit startled, the brunette didn't return the embrace, but didn't resist either, merely allowing herself to be hugged. When at last she pulled away, Jill looked up into the slightly taller woman's eyes, and said, tilting her head appreciatively, "You used to be shorter than me. And those glasses and the ponytail are new, too. You really turned out beautiful, Jackie."

"Uh...thanks," Jackie replied, appearing a bit flustered. She stared at the blond girl. "So, it really is you? You're Jill Keeper? And your, what? About fourteen?"

Jill nodded.

"Hey, you two!" Cindy called from in front of the other desk. "Get over here! The boss wants to see you!"

Jackie opened her mouth to say something else, but Jill just slipped an arm around the older woman's waist, and walked her toward the desk. Jill could see that Jerome, Sara, and April were already ascending the little set of stairs that led up the side of this new, slightly larger desk. In a moment, Jill and Jackie had joined the others on the desk top, with Cindy pulling up a chair in front of the big desk.

Jill saw another tiny desk atop the big desk, with another young woman seated there. She had her head down, looking over a thick sheaf of papers in an open manila folder.

"Boss-" Cindy began.

The little blond held up a finger. Wait a moment, the gesture clearly said.

Cindy settled back in her chair. She reached out, playfully tugging lightly on Jackie's ponytail, giggling as the little woman absently batted the huge fingers away.

The four teens looked curiously around the table. Jerome, Cindy, and Sara walked in front of the huge computer screen, where a large spread sheet appeared. Looking around, they all spied the tiny, doll-sized keyboard on the little woman's desk. The little woman glanced up at the screen, tapped a key on the keyboard, then watched as the screen changed to another spread sheet. "With you in a minute, Cindy."

"No hurry."

Jill, for her part was looking at a metal nameplate set near the front of the desk. Kneeling down on the desk top, she reached down and felt the deeply engraved letters, each one bigger than her hand. The plate read: JILL KEEPER - DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS.

"Damn," she whispered.

At last the blond woman looked up at Cindy. "Sorry about that, Cindy. Didn't want to lose my train of thought. What's up?"

The larger woman leaned her elbows on the desk, grinning down at her boss. "I got 'em, Jill. Just like I hoped. With Derrick's help, that cool little nerd, we found the same coordinates I stumbled on the other day, and we found these kids right where they were supposed to be."

Twenty-four-year-old Jill Keeper glanced briefly at the four teens and Jackie. "Hi, Jackie. Kids." She turned back to look up at Cindy. "Any problems with the Uglies?"

Cindy shook her head, as she removed the phaser from her pocket. "Nope. The Puck took care of a couple of them quite nicely."

Jackie snorted. "How many times do I have to tell you, Girlzilla, it's not a puck. Laser weapon or phaser. Pick one."

"I pick The Puck," Cindy said, laughing.

Jackie rolled her eyes.

"Anyway, Jill," said Cindy, holding her hand above the little teens. "This is Jerome, Sara, April, and...Jill."

The older Jill behind the desk smiled warmly at her young guests. "So nice to meet you all. I'm sure this has all been quite an ordeal for you. Later, we can talk more, and I can tell you more about..." She trailed off as she looked at the little blond girl. She stared at her younger self for a moment, then closed her eyes. She opened them again, her jaw dropping. "My God," she breathed. "You're me."

The younger Jill waved across the desk at her senior counterpart. "Nice to meet you, Director Keeper." She laughed giddily, then turned to look at her fellow teens. "Hey, I turned out pretty good, huh, guys?"
