Mati leaned back against a wooden support beam, crossing his arms over his chest as he watched the chaos unfold. He couldn't help but grin; the sight of the normally poised and elegant lamia biology being undone by a simple video game character was priceless. He watched as Emily’s focus intensified, her tongue poking out slightly from the corner of her mouth in a sign of absolute concentration. She was no longer just playing a game; she was navigating a new reality, her tail now swaying in a rhythmic, hypnotic wave that mirrored the movement of the character on the screen.

"Easy there, neon jumper," he chuckled, noticing how she was leaning so far into the monitor that she was practically merging with the pixels. "If you keep leaning like that, you're going to end up inside the computer yourself. Just use the left stick to turn, and the triggers to interact with things. Try to find the shimmering lake in the valley—it's the most beautiful part of the map." He felt a strange, warm sense of contentment. For a guy who usually spent his weekends alone in a dark room fighting with kernel panics and driver updates, this version of 'tech support' was infinitely more rewarding.

Emily’s concentration was so absolute that she seemed to have forgotten where her body ended and the chair began. As she finally navigated the character toward the shimmering lake, the screen erupted in a cascade of iridescent blues and silver light. The sound of digital water splashing against a neon shore filled the attic, and Emily let out a gasp of pure delight, her blue eyes reflecting the shimmering pixels like twin gemstones. "It's... it's so pretty! Look, Daddy Mati! The water is glowing!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with a mixture of awe and triumph.

In her excitement, she forgot the physical boundaries of her surroundings. As she leaned back to celebrate her discovery, her massive blue tail gave a sudden, powerful flick. The coil caught the edge of the ergonomic chair, sending it sliding backward across the wooden floor with a loud screech. The momentum carried her backward, and with a surprised "Eek!", she tumbled off the seat and landed flat on her back on the attic floor, her long tail tangling around her legs like a heap of blue silk.

She lay there for a second, blinking up at the ceiling beams, before a mischievous grin spread across her face. Instead of getting up, she simply rolled over and looked up at Mati, her pink hair splayed out around her head. "The game is so exciting it pushed me out of the chair!" she giggled, her blue tail beginning to whip back and forth in a rhythmic, playful motion that signaled she was far from upset about her clumsy fall.

"EMILY?! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?! ARE YOU HURT?!" Mati asked, Emily's voice echoing from the hallway. Emilia entered the attic, her eyes wide with worry. She quickly moved toward her daughter, her red tail sliding across the floor with a soft hiss. She looked down at Emily, who was still giggling and rolling on the floor, and then at the overturned chair. "Goodness, you two. I leave you alone for ten minutes and you've already turned my attic into a disaster zone," she teased, though her voice was filled with relief.

She reached down, her powerful arms easily hoisting Emily back onto her feet and dusting off the girl's scales. Emilia then looked at Mati, a playful glint in her blue eyes as she noticed how flustered he looked. "It seems our 'neon jumper' has a bit more power in her tail than we anticipated. Perhaps we should clear some of these boxes before someone actually gets launched through the roof."

Mati let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, his shoulders dropping as he realized Emily was perfectly fine. He looked at the overturned chair and then back at the two lamias, a small, sheepish smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "I think 'neon jumping' is a high-impact sport," he joked, stepping forward to help right the ergonomic chair. "But she's right about the boxes. If we keep this up, the server rack is going to end up in the hallway."

He paused, glancing at Emily, whose eyes were still wide with the lingering adrenaline of the game. The way she looked at him—half-awe, half-mischief—made the strange circumstances of his new living arrangement feel less like a fluke and more like something he actually wanted. "I can show you a few more things, Emily, but maybe we should move the 'danger zones' first. We don't need a blue tail acting like a wrecking ball in here."

"Emilia is right. Let's clean those boxes before other 'accident' might happen." Mati said, he began cleaning boxes. Emilia helps Mati by using her long tail to move the boxes easily. Emily is not helping, she just watches them and asks Mati if he can teach her more. "Can I play the game again? Please, Daddy Mati! I want to find the glowing water again!"

Mati sighed, but there was a clear smile on his face as he looked at Emily. He reached for one last oversized cardboard box, sliding it toward the corner where the server rack sat, safely away from any potential tail-swings. "Tell you what, once we get this area completely clear, you can have another turn. But you have to promise me you won't use the chair as a launchpad this time," he teased, glancing at the spot where she had previously tumbled.

He stood up straight, wiping a bit of dust from his red shirt, and looked at the screen. The shimmering lake was still glowing in the game, reflecting the neon aesthetic that had captured Emily's imagination. It felt strange, the way he was stepping into this role so quickly, but seeing the genuine joy on the young lamia's face made the transition feel natural. He wasn't just setting up a home office anymore; he was building a sanctuary for a daughter he had just found.
