Chapter 1 Page 1 - Beginning Mati and two lamias chapter 1 by The Reaper

Mati left his family home looking out for new place to move in. He hopes that he will finally start his life on his own. He doesn't know that in the forest, there are two living lamias: Emily and Emilia. He was always a optimist and he won't change that. Finally, he found a small cozy home for two. It's a bit run down, but that's no problem for Mati. He had seen other houses in much worse conditions. He noticed a "For Rent" sign with a phone number listed. Without waiting a moment longer, Mati called the number.

The phone rang for a few moments, the sound echoing through the quiet, tree-lined street, until a soft, feminine voice answered. It wasn't the gruff tone of a landlord or the professional clip of a real estate agent; it was melodic, warm, and carried a hint of curiosity. The woman on the other end identified herself as Emilia and told him she was the owner of the property. She sounded genuinely pleased that someone had finally called, though she mentioned that the house had been empty for a while. 

After a brief conversation where Mati expressed his enthusiasm for the cozy layout and his willingness to overlook the peeling paint, Emilia invited him to come over for a viewing the following afternoon. She sounded welcoming, almost overly so, and told him to just follow the winding path toward the old oak grove. Mati hung up the phone with a grin, feeling like he had just scored a hidden gem of a find. He spent the rest of the evening packing his computer components and cables into padded boxes, his mind already racing with ideas on how to set up his workstation in the small attic room he had glimpsed from the outside.
