Heather's Downfall Revenge of the Geek Gal chapter 8 by copier · original author: penslayer5

Enda sighed when it became clear the goth girl wasn't about to give her and her sworn enemy some privacy. Whatever happened to Heather while she was in a coma was serious enough that Patsy was now plaything the role of a guard dog when before she was just a right hand.

"Anything you have to say to her you can say to me." She replied. After everything her best friend had been through there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell she was going to leave her alone.

The geek girl could grudgingly respect Patsy's loyalty to her friend. She would be the same way if it was Ruthie. Her eyes briefly turned towards Heather who seemed to be giving the raven-haired girl a look of gratitude.

"That's fine. I guess you could help fill in the blanks for me." Edna spoke before turning her full attention towards her former bully. "I want to know what happened to you while I was in a coma because while I think I have a good idea, I want your perspective."

Heather actually looked nervous to answer which came as surprise because before she was never at a loss for words with that sharp tongue of hers.

"What do think happened?" Patsy cut in. "After your little accident everyone decided they all of a sudden have a heart and didn't mean to act like jerks, or they were just messing around. You know, typical high school stuff. Bunch of hypocrites if you ask me."

That was both surprising and somewhat expected. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, right?

"T-They all t-turned on me." Heather stuttered out. "T-They w-wanted some to blame."

Patsy stabbed her food none to gently. "Everyone wanted a scapegoat so they could pretend they're good people or just wanted dogpile Heather for various reasons."

"I-It's not like I d-don't deserve it." Heather whispered.

Edna and her family's accident was the straw that broke the camel's back. Everyone turned on her and she lost everything. Students and teachers alike put all the blame on her and to avoid the heat her entourage left her to the wolves and claimed they acted the way they did under duress. In just a few days she went from a school idol to the bottom of the barrel.

Teachers couldn't do much other than regard her with cool indifference, her peers either gave her the cold shoulder or finally felt brave enough to take their own measure of revenge against her. A group of boys even held her down at one point while some girl she didn't even recognize cut her hair.

Her locker was even vandalized at some point. People would also write nasty things about her on the bathroom walls. Everything she and her group ever did to anyone was done to her in kind as a vicious for of justice.

The only person who didn't abandon her was Patsy. She would be the one to make people back off and as a result everyone gave her the same treatment but to a lesser degree.

In the span of a month her whole life had been turned upside down and she lost her confidence. She rarely went out anymore, she packed all her designer clothes away, she spent most days at home away from social media and took to watching anime like the nerds she mocked for fun.

She didn't feel like Heather "Freaking" Miles anymore, she felt like a shell of her former self, and she couldn't say the punishment wasn't well deserved. She brought this all on herself, didn't she? She was an evil bitch who got off on seeing the beneath her suffer and now the shoe was on the other foot. Even the chess club was a tier above her.

Edna listened in silence as Heather and Patsy explained their side of the story and Edna was left not knowing how to feel. On the one hand Heather was no longer a problem, but on the other she'd been cheated out of her vengeance and her mortal enemy now lived a life almost similar to herself.

"Why didn't you tell a teacher?" Edna asked already knowing the answer.

"Because they don't care." Heather said weakly.

"Only when it's convenient." Patsy spat. "Story time is over, Edna. So it lunch."

And with that, the bell sounded.
