Edna "Geek Gal" McCoy had officially entered the twilight zone. Heather Miles, the she-devil in human form who went out of her way to make her life a living hell... actually liked her. Like Liked her.
The geek girl stared at her now blushing bully with eyes so wide they threatened to roll right out of her skull. This couldn't be. Heather couldn't like her, she embodied everything Heather despised.
She was uncool. A nerd. A victim.
Yet, the school idol just poured her heart out in a moment that Edna just couldn't refute as being anything other than genuine. Heather Miles in her own twisted way had a huge crush on her.
Enda felt her whole flip upside down. Almost everything she now knew about Heather Miles was now called into question. Every moment she spent with her would now have to be re-analyzed down to the smallest little detail.
The blonde amazon beauty liked her.
The redhead had to think long and hard. While taken to extreme degrees, her bully's treatment of her was like a boy throwing a kickball at a girl to show signs of affection.
Either that or like Neanderthals clubbing each other in the head to show forms of attraction. Heather Miles could no longer fit as neatly in the filed Edna had built for her over the years. She was now paradoxical. A walking contradiction.
Things had become far too complicated now.
Heather was a cruel and confident young woman who never gave any indication she was nervous about anything and right now at this very moment was red faced and looking anywhere other than her.
Heather Miles was indomitable and strong, yet she looked vulnerable like an actual human being. Edna was pretty sure aside from her parents no one had ever seen this side of the school idol.
What the hell was happening?
Enda didn't know how to feel anymore. She wanted to hurt the blonde in front of her for years of malicious mistreatment, but now she found out that not all of it was malicious at all. She did it because it was the only way she knew how to communicate with her.
She didn't understand her own feelings, so she lashed out. It was as if she was mirroring a character from one of the anime she liked to watch on the weekend. Did Heather even watch anime? Probably not.
Still, whatever her reasons that didn't give her the right to treat her like garbage.
She should hate her even more in this moment. How dare she tell her all this now after everything had long since spiraled out of control. She was weak now, vulnerable just like she had been.
Heather liked her and that gave her power. Enda might not have gotten revenge in the way she planned, but she could still hurt Heather in another way. A more deep and personal way... rejection.
All she had to do was say she didn't reciprocate, and she would shatter like glass.
She could see it now, Heather Miles, a broken and sobbing mess at her feet. The school idol who most boys and even a few girls would fight and kill just be with rejected by a complete and utter nobody.
Edna felt her heartbeat increase and could've sworn she could also hear it as well. Heather had given her everything she needed to finally get even. All she had to do was tell her there was no chance.
"Well...?" Heather finally spoke, still red face and now looking her in the eyes. "Say something! I just poured my heart out to you! Do you feel the same way about me!? Is there even a chance!?"
Was there even a chance?
Edna gulped. This was it. The moment she'd been waiting for. She could finally have her revenge. Her breathing became heavy, and she could feel a thin layer of sweat beginning to form on her brow.
All she had to do was reject her. All she had to so was say there was no way in hell she could ever love an evil bitch like her. Well, what was she waiting for? Her mouth was open, but no words were coming out.
Why couldn't she speak? Where had her voice gone?
Silence.
All there was, was silence. Heather couldn't speak and Edna herself had gone mute. She wanted to reject Heather but a part of her didn't. A cute girl who sat atop the social food chain and ruled the animal kingdom with an iron fist liked her.
No one had ever admitted they liked her and actually meant it. It was always either a joke, or a bet, or some Allterior motive was involved. No one ever looked her in the eyes and genuinely told her they had deep feelings for her.
She never expected those words to come from her bully, that's for sure.
"Edna?" Heather called out, her voice now small. Deep brown eyes looked ahead to meet bright blue, their owner now leaning in on top of her.
She was so close now, Heather Fucking Miles. So close in fact that she could feel the warmth of her breath against her. Edna didn't even realize it herself, but she too was beginning to lean forward.
They met in the middle and shared a kiss that would've set the whole school ablaze. The school idol and the geek girl. Heather Miles and Enda McCoy. The two most unlikely people to ever share a brief moment of intimacy.
Heather's lips were soft, so incredibly soft and she was so gentle too. A far cry from the girl who ordered her attack dogs to give her a swirly in the girl's bathroom. How was this possible? How could she not be repulsed by this moment? How could she not be repulsed that Heather was the one she gave her first kiss too?
Eventually the two broke apart for air. For Heather it was a moment she would treasure. Despite the hell she put the ginger girl through she didn't push her away. She didn't reject her or even look repulsed. It was a gamble to do what she did, and it seems to have paid off.
The two shared a knowing look, they would give this a try and see where it led them.
