Alex was getting closer. It was still pretty far, but she had hope she could make it. If she kept going at this pace, maybe she'd get there. She forced herself to focus on that one task. She refused to think about anything else. She couldn't let anything distract her....
Unfortunately, something did disrupt her mission. She froze in horror and her eyes widened as she felt a series of tremors in the ground. They only got louder and more powerful until the door creaked open, and she could see Ian's impossibly gargantuan form. The boy took a single step inside, shaking the ground violently. Then he took a few more. Alex was having trouble keeping her balance and she was becoming even more frantic. She tried to run as fast as she could and briefly looked back to see where Ian was.
