A loud sniffle told you that your mother was crying, you could actually hear the tears sliding out of her tear ducts. You slumped, it broke your heart to give that speech to your mom but it had to be done. You leaned against the mile high wall of your Mother's ear, awaiting the result of your actions.
In seconds your mom's small sobs burst into full blown crying, to the point it rivaled Milly's worst fit. The loud noises of her tears hitting the floor were so rapid and continous that it sounded exactly like rain, her sniffles could have been the thunder.
Each second that passed seemed like an eternity, Mother's tears and sniffles continued and seemed to only get worse while you leaned guiltily in her ear. You didn't say a word all the while your Mom cried, you figured you had done enough damage, anything you said to comfort her would either make things worse or be a lie.
Ten minutes passed, and finally the tears started to slow down, not because she was getting better but because physically she was losing her ability to cry at the moment. As far as you knew your sisters weren't around, or they were avoiding their very upset Mom.
Soon your Mom managed to speak a solid sentence, her voice sounding weak. "Are you sure?" Her voice told you that she was hoping you would say no.
"Yes" You respond, kicking at her ear wax like you were bored.
A long silence ensued, your mother was thinking of what to say next; you could practically hear her brain rattling.
"Fine.......I understand what you're saying honey and...........I support you whole heartedly."
"Really?!" You shout, tears of happiness sliding down your cheeks.
You Mother spoke again, her voice naught but a whisper. "Yes.....I'll be worrying more than ever but you're right. You can't live like this."
You literally fell over from disbelief, " Thank You Mom........."
Your Mom laughed weakly, "No Thank You baby"
Things were finally looking up.
