To the Stars Your Life......Bigger chapter 19 by copier · original author: spiralwriter

Lily paused for a moment as tears began to fall from her eyes.

“L-Lily? You alright?” Michael asked as she hugged his sister.

“Yeah, I...I’m fine,” she replied as she dried her tears. “This is the best birthday present ever, and now whenever I look up at Mars, I’ll always be able to see how much Mom loves the two of us, even though she’s so far away from us.”

“Heh, Mom really outdid herself this time,” he smiled. “Don’t worry sis, I miss her too. I miss her more than anything. It’s just not the same without Mom on Earth, but at least she remembered your birthday.”

“I really miss her...I miss Mom!” Lily cried once again.

“There there...Hey, wanna know a secret?” he brother smiled. “Don’t tell her or I’ll deny it, alright?”

“Sure, what is it?”

“I...I miss the smell of Mom’s feet. Every day knowing that she was near by that familiar smell in the air. It was one of the advantages of having an ever-growing mother, you know?”

“Heh, I’m totally telling everyone,” she chuckled as her eyes cleared up.

“No fair!”

“Just kidding! Anyways, thanks Mom...Thank you so much. This was the best birthday ever.”

Miss Spiral grinned as she laid down on the red ground, staring up at earth, just like she knew her children were staring back at her. It made her warm, it made her feel almost...human. She liked that feeling.

“Goodnight, my babies!”She waved as she closed her eyes to sleep, knowing full well that she would not dream. Ever since her body’s chemical make up changed, whenever she forced her self to rest, she did not sleep, only saw blackness, and when she awoke, she would feel just fine. Not tired, not anything. Just big and happy.

She slowly drifted off to a snooze, her snores and soft breathing echoing throughout the solar system. But as she rested, a small shuttle blasted off from earth, it’s destination, Mars. The ship carried only a crew of three men, but these men were important. Dr. Connors, the Leader, and the Nervous Man, each one playing pivotal roles in the story of the gigantic goddess.”So Doc....why are we doing this again?”The Leader asked, feeling incredibly uncomfortable in his space suit.

“To inform Ellen Spiral of the happenings of earth and what involves her.”

“And we’re coming along because....”

“To apologize to her.”

“WHAT?!”

“It’s the right thing to do.”Connors placidly looked out the window, the shuttle rocketing them closer and closer to the red planet.”We’ve wronged this woman so much...we must make amends if we are to ever be at peace.”

“That’s your problem bub, I’m getting off this thing!”He unstrapped himself from his seat and began floating towards the emergency escape pod.

“If you want to helplessly float through the soul-sucking void of space, be my guest.”

“....”

He returned to his seat without question, strapping in quietly.

“D-do you t-t-think...she’ll forgive u-us?”The Nervous Man questioned, his voice stuttering and meek.

“I’m sure of it.”Connors nodded.”I worked on the woman for twelve years. She’s prone to her moments, yes, but she’ll never hold a grudge.”

“Hope you’re right....”Leader mumbled to himself.
