"Sephiroth...is threatening Tifa´s life?!" Yuffie yelled in pure disbelief and confusion. Hearing that name alone sent shivers down her spine, and not just because of all those old stories about his unsurmountable strength she has been hearing over the years, but also because she herself knew only too well what that psychotic man capable of...and how far he would be willing to go in his madness in order to achieve his goals, for human lives did not matter to him in the least bit...although Yuffie fortunately never had to lose anyone close to her because of Sephiroth´s influence, except for maybe Aerith, whom she really liked as a good friend, and her death really had affected her much more than she would have wanted to admit to herself - her tears on that fateful still seemed fresh to her, just like the scar Aerith´s death had left not just in her soul, but those of her comrades as well. And with Sephiroth being the one responsible for this terrible deed, it was clear that he was the target of her hatred as well, and hearing from this mysterious man that Sephiroth was trying to harm Tifa as well made her want to fight for her life instantly - from the moment Glenn had told her about Sephiroth´s "curse" on Tifa, she was hell-bent on saving her. Tifa was a wonderful friend to her, too, and she would never allow her to die because of Sephiroth as well.
Vincent practically thought the same, even though one could not see his will to save Tifa on the outside. His calm and sometimes even cold demeanor was in fact hiding his true sentiments, but Vincent was anything but indifferent toward the fate of his comrades and friends, and despite the fact that on the day Aerith had died he did not show any signs of sorrow, he was being deeply hurt by her death as well, especially considering that it was Sephiroth who struck her down mercilessly with his sword. After all...Sephiroth was the biological son of Hojo, the mad Shinra head scientist...and Lucrecia Crescent. While Hojo was the one responsible for the way his life ended up to be by having shot him and genetically altered him, Lucrecia has been, without a doubt, the love of his life, and if he ever had feelings for anyone in this world, than it was Lucrecia. And seeing that she has been injected with Jenova cells during her pregnancy and what kind of outcome the world had to face, it did not exactly make things more bearable for Vincent, quite the contrary.
So both Yuffie and Vincent alike had their own personal reasons to aid this Glenn in his quest to save Tifa as well - that is, apart from the fact that both wanted to protect a dear friend from doom and unbelievable pain. After all, they believed Glenn. Of course, they did not voice their opinion on the validity of his words, but it was clear that he must have spoken the truth. The mere sight of Tifa´s condition alone was proof enough for the fact that Tifa´s life really was in danger, not to mention that it also made it unlike that this man would have lied to them - not in such a situation, not under these most disturbing circumstances. Of course, the aura of mystery surrounding this man was unsettling and creepy, and trusting someone like him whom they had just met in such a serious matter was quite risky, to be perfectly true, but still...the sincerity in his voice when called Tifa a good friend of his was definitely audible, and they hardly had another choice, anyway.
"What are you going to do now? Will you allow me to fulfill my task and save my friend´s life? Or do you want to fight me for some nonsensical reason? If so, then let me tell you that it would be a futile attempt in more than one way, and it would only prolong the girl´s suffering." Glenn then said in order to break the silence, trying to make things clear to the two of them. No one would stop him in his attempt to save Tifa. No one and nothing...not even Death itself could have prevented him from doing this. Fighting for Tifa´s sake, saving her life, showing her how much she means to him, how much he loves her...that was the only thing he was still living for, anyway - living for her sake rather than for his own. Deep in his mind, he certainly must have had a nostalgic feeling once this thought crossed his mind...a memory of happier days, when he and Tifa could be together. Whenever he happened to assure her of his devotion toward her by using exactly the same words he just thought of, Tifa would react to that in an annoyed but admittedly cute way before trying to hell him that he had to think of himself too...and admitting at the same time that in a certain way, she thinks so too...that she wants to be there for him as well. Tifa, what a hypocrite...in a most positive way. And one of the many reasons for him to love her with such an unsurmountable and honest passion: she cared deeply about him, and she would not hesitate to show her feelings for him by cheering him up whenever he needed her help...she simply gave him the feeling that there was at least one person in this vast world who cared about him, and that feeling alone was an invaluable treasure Glenn would keep deep inside his heart forever and cherish with utmost passion. And the thought of a possible reunion with Tifa alone was enough to keep him going on life, the last ray of hope to shine in his life and to give him strength. One single girl was able to provide him with all that...one single girl that managed to give his life a reason...the only love of his life. And now was the time to show her once again that his love for her was honest and sincere. The only question that was still haunting him was whether or not she would still accept him as a friend after all these years...to her, he has obviously been dead, at least it must have seemed like that to her, so how would she be reacting to his sudden reappearance? He wanted to take great care in not hurting her feelings in the least bit for they were far too precious to him as well, but...maybe she would be happy to see him again. They were best friends, after all, so it would be only natural for her to be delighted by his return. But only time would tell...
However, for the moment, he would have to deal with Yuffie and Vincent first, and he honestly hoped that they would not foolishly try to stop him just because they were thinking of him as an evildoer...maybe that Vincent would show some common sense at least, compared to that hothead-girl Yuffie.
"We believe you. I can´t see why you would be lying to us in such a situation, anyway." Vincent then calmly said.
"However, I for my part want to accompany you in order to save Tifa´s life." he then added.
"Me too! I´d do anything for Tifa!" Yuffie yelled, trying to make it clear that she would not hesitate for a single second. The question was, was it a good thing that the two of them wanted to accompany him on his quest? Sure, it might have been a lot easier for him to save Tifa with their aid, but then again...what if they would prove themselves to be obstacles on his way? At the very least, Vincent appeared to be a valuable asset in case of need, but that Yuffie...he was somehow afraid of her screwing everything up due to her temper, but he hardly had a choice. Resisting them would have been futile, so he knew that he had to give in.
"Alright, then. But I must warn you not to hurt Tifa once this "mission" starts."
"Of course we won´t! What do you think we are, just some slow good-for-nothings?!" Yuffie yelled in response, with Vincent once again retaining his calm temper.
"Don´t worry, we will be careful. But tell us, how do you attempt to go inside Tifa in the first place?"
"You´ll see, just trust me." Glenn merely replied.
"Hey, Vinnie, don´t you think we should call Cloud and the others for help?" Yuffie then asked, and Glenn of course had no idea whom she meant by the "others".
"Sounds like a good idea...I´m sure we´re going to need their help if Sephiroth is being involved."
"Wait a moment. We don´t have much time to save Tifa! You can´t just wait for your friends to arrive and help us as well...what if you don´t even know where they are?" Glenn then argued, trying not to sound too emotional about it, but still being able to make his point clear. Yuffie, in response, simply grinned.
"He he...don´t worry, it will only take a couple of minutes!" she mysteriously said, and even Glenn was a little surprised by that answer.
"Glenn, I suppose you go to Tifa´s house and lay her into her bed. We´ll bring our comrades here."
"Alright, if what you say is valid, then do so. I´ll be waiting at her house for you. Once you have arrived, I´ll be instructing you on what we can do in order to save her."
"Good. We won´t be long, I can assure you. Let´s go Yuffie."
Vincent and Yuffie immediately began to run toward the door to Nibelheim, much to Glenn´s surprise...how would they be able to get there friends here from there? Whatever it was, he himself did not waste time either and began to make his way toward Nibelheim as well...that is, until he was hearing a female voice talking to him. A most familiar voice, that is.
"You shouldn´t worry too much about them, Glenn. I know them, and they can be trusted." the voice said to him as he stopped, still holding Tifa in his arms. The voice seemed to come out of nowhere, but he wasn´t in the least bit surprised to hear it...on the contrary, it seemed like he has been expecting this voice to talk to him.
"You really think so?" he asked, seemingly talking to no one...
"Yes. I know they will do their best to save Tifa."
"If YOU say so, then maybe they will be of some help..."
"Glenn. It really is honorable of you to care so much about Tifa, and your will to protect her shines with such wondrous light...it´s a great gift that she has such a wonderful friend like you."
"..."
"But even if you´re that eager to save her, please don´t think that you have to do it all by yourself. They are trying to achieve the same goal, after all...and you can´t always do things all alone...everyone needs help, even you."
"I know..." Glenn said, with a hint of sadness in his voice.
"You´re not alone, Glenn. Never forget that."
"...thank you."
"Never mind that. Just do your best to help Tifa, alright? She is a friend of mine, too."
"I will, don´t worry. I didn´t spend all these years searching for a cure for nothing. But what about you? Will you be there with us, too?"
"I´m always with you...with all of my friends, did you forget?" the female voice said in an almost funny way. It was such a soft and comfortable voice...a joy to listen to, almost as wonderful as Tifa´s.
"But I will do what I can to help you from within the lifestream. Good luck, Glenn."
With that, the voice seemingly disappeared, as if some sort of a mental connection was suddenly cut. In any case, talking to this voice made him feel better already...after all, she was the one who had been helping him with his search...the one who would always be with him and with her friends...a spirit traveling the planet, guiding him and the others from the lifestream.
"Thank you...my beloved sister."
