Of course Tifa was afraid of something being wrong with her heart or any other internal organ, but she wanted to forget about it for now. There was no way she could tell what this sudden pain was and why it was there, but tried to convince herself that it was nothing to get worried about, just some slight pain people sometimes are having. Breathing normally again, with her heart beating in its original, calm and steady rhyme, she walked down the stairs carefully and slowly, as she still felt a bit exhausted and week, not only because of the terrible pain inside her chest just moments before, but also because she still felt a bit tired. So each step cost her quite some energy, at least more than normally.
Before she reached the living room, she stopped on of the stairs, taking a deep breath. Somehow, she began to realize that something really wasn´t right with her body, as she usually did not suffer from such an exhaustion. And it´s only understandable that she was feeling uneasy because of that. The pain inside her soul was already torturing her enough, so she didn´t really need physical pain to make her situation even worse.
"What´s wrong with me?" she whispered to herself. Amidst her confusion about her physical state, she already decided that she had to see a doctor sooner or later, and maybe he would provide her with a new insight into her current state of health. But for now, she just wanted to eat something for breakfast. A slight rumbling of her stomach indicated that her body apparently thought so, too, and was striving for a good meal, even though it was just going to be a breakfast. Due to the rumbling of her stomach, she put her soft, right hand onto the part of white nightdress that was looking extremely cute on her) that was covering her belly, and surprisingly enough...she smiled. It was a soft and decent smile, almost faint, but at least she obviously had a positive thought on that day, causing this faint but cute smile. Tifa herself wasn´t quite sure why exactly she had to smile when she put her hand on her belly, but she thought that it must have been a memory of her late friend she got. Glenn sometimes used to tease her when her stomach was rumbling or when she was just hungry, telling her how nice and comfy it must have been inside her innards and how much he actually wanted to be inside her, accompanied by a grin of him. Tifa mostly answered to this comments with an annoyed look, quickly followed by a big smile and a hug for her dear friend. Of course his words were stupid, but she actually were quite cute, and she somehow liked him for that. After all, he entertained her a bit with his small jokes; he made her smile. That was one of THE reasons for her to love Glenn. She didn´t care about his merely ordinary look, that he wasn´t the muscular type or things like that. It was his character she loved so dearly, and the ability to make a girl smile belonged to this aspect, at least that´s what Tifa thought.
Admittedly, she would have been glad if Glenn had been inside her stomach right now. At least...he would have been with her again, and she could have talked to him again. Her smile quickly faded away as the thoughts of her friend were crossing her mind. Glenn...why couldn´t he be here with her right now? Why did he have to die? And why...couldn´t she save him? After all he had done for her, it would have been her duty to help him on that fateful day, being a strong person herself, but she failed him. Perhaps Tifa would never realize that she was not to be blamed for the events that occurred on that day. There was no way she could have saved Glenn from Sephiroth´s fatal blow, absolutely no way. But it appeared that she would forever feel guilty for what happened three years ago.
She sighed and walked down the remaining stairs until she reached her living room. It was in fact a cozy and comfortable seeming room, a nice place to rest in case of exhaustion, for example. Walking through another door at the other side of her living room, she finally arrived in the kitchen, attempting to prepare a small breakfast in order to satisfy her hunger. So she went to the cupboard in one of the corners of the kitchen, opening it and taking out a loaf of bread. A small slice of bread with some spread would certainly be enough for her, she thought. Strangely enough, Tifa in fact had a good appetite sometimes, eating more than her slender figure would give away. Her secret was all the training she did for her martial arts practice, and indeed, she has always been training incredibly hard, much to her master´s satisfaction, indicating that Tifa had the spirit of an honorable warrior, and that she would become a powerful fighter one day. And apparently, she succeeded in that regard.
As Tifa took a knife out of a drawer in order to cut off a slice from the loaf, it happened again. Her chest...this terrible pain in her heart came back in a flash, all out of a sudden, causing Tifa to drop the knife immediately and to grab her chest. She fell onto her knees, groaning in pain, and it seemed to be even more intense than before, threatening to make her chest burst - at least that´s how she felt back then.
"No...*huff*, *huff*...not again..." that was all she could whisper under these painful circumstances. She was huffing and puffing, and she was able to hear that the rhythm of her heart had changed again, being much faster than before.
And now, her entire body seemed to be engulfed by a massive, unbearable pain, causing her to collapse onto the ground completely. Her body was shaking and trembling in pain, and Tifa deserved admiration for the fact that she did not pass out yet. Although she wished she would, as she though she would die now. But Tifa would not give up that easily. Straining herself to the max, she managed to get over her pain and stand up again, although she had to try hard not to scream. After several seconds, Tifa stood upright in her kitchen again, and yet it didn´t change anything about her body´s state. On the contrary, it seemed to be worsening with each passing moment, and Tifa decided that she had to leave her house and find someone to help her quickly. With sweat dropping from her forehead and with her face expressing her pain perfectly, so to speak, she slowly began to walk toward the frontdoor of her house. But walking was a complete chore, as it made her body hurt even more than before. The more she made her legs move and the nearer she got to her frontdoor, the more sweat was dripping out of her pores, and the heavier her breathing got. But Tifa was a strong girl, and she actually managed to get to her frontdoor. Only opening it was quite an issue, as her soft and gentle hands were trembling just like her entire body, but she somehow did it and stumbled out of the opened door, falling onto the ground in front of her house headfirst. There she remained for a few seconds, and it seemed at first ad if she could no longer go on.
"Glenn...please..." she whispered in tears, not able to take the pain anymore. She was wondering herself why she was calling for Glenn, although it quickly became clear to her that it must have been her love for him that still remained deep within her heart. And strangely enough, calling her great love´s name gave her new power, the power to go on. Straining her muscles as much as possible, Tifa got herself up from the ground slowly and carefully. Then she looked around, hoping she would see anyone around in the village, but to her dismay, there was no one, absolutely no one.
Strangely enough, something deep inside her told her that she should leave the village instead of knocking at the peoples´ doors and asking for help. And it was equally strange that Tifa listened to that "voice" inside her, and she began to move out of her hometown. As Nibelheim was a small village (extremely small, a village of no importance whatsoever), it really didn´t take her long, even though she was heavily injured inside her body (she thought, at least that´s what the pain was indicating). After roughly a minute, she had managed to bring her frail and weak body out of the town with the last remaining energy inside her.
"Uh....I...can´t...go...anymore..." her soft and sad voice could be heard as Tifa collapsed on the ground, dozens of meters away from her village by now. And this time, she would not stand up so quickly, as she fell unconscious. The pain and the strain have been too much for her body, as now she was apparently suffering from a physical breakdown. Before she completely passed out, she whispered HIS name again...
"Glenn..." she whispered with a voice that indicated that she was crying slightly, having been hurt horribly.
Unbeknownst to the unconscious, gorgeous girl lying on the ground, Tifa´s body began to glow in some blending greenish light, and something began to change inside her body and outside as well...and Tifa would know. Soon enough.
Meanwhile, far away from Nibelheim, a mysterious man, who was wearing a shining, pure white cloak as well as a white mask, was standing on top of the remnants of the "Sister Ray", Shin-Ra´s destroyed super-weapon. He was in Midgar, or to be more precise: what was left of Midgar, for the city had been destroyed by the comet, summoned by Sephiroth. He was looking down at the ruins of the city beneath him, and being on top of the huge, canon like weapon provided him with a good view on the once glorious city. Although his mask did not provide any hint at his face, it was safe to say that his view on the city was as empty as his heart at that moment.
Then suddenly, he looked up into the skies, although nothing was to be seen there. Instead, he saw something via his mind...pictures from the present...pictures he had been waiting for a long time. Pictures he did not want to see in the first place...but now they were there, revealing a shocking event.
"Tifa..." his cold voice whispered.
"So it has begun, then. Soon...we will meet again...ma beloved, belle Tifa..."
Having spoken these words, the white cloaked man disappeared into thin air at will, just like that and in a matter of seconds...
Before she reached the living room, she stopped on of the stairs, taking a deep breath.
