As soon as the elevator came to a stop, Pride quickly made his way through the sunken city. He passed by the sloping buildings, some in total ruin, others remarkably preserved, and entered a church. The church had once been built to worship the God of a dead religion. Now it served the needs of the Homunculi and their master. Dante used alchemy to reconstruct the stain glass window that revealed the staircase to the mansion. The Sins could enter it in other ways, since they couldn't perfrom alchemy, but stopping by the church first allowed them to see if Dante had entered the mansion. Seeing the window in one piece, he walked briskly down the staircase and soon found himself in the entrance hall of the mansion. Dante was still there, smirking up at the suspended Lust, Wrath cowered in the corner, petrified of his master, while Sloth stood her ground next to Lust. There was another girl, holding an infant. Dante turned to look at Pride, and saw the serious expression on his face. She frowned slightly, then, hitching the smile back on her face, turned to Rose.
"Rose dear, why not take the baby upstairs? There's a room already prepared for you there."
Rose nodded vacantly and walked up the stairs. Dante turned to Sloth and said, "Make sure she finds it and doesn't get lost."
Sloth nodded and left, following Rose, Wrath not close behind her. Now only Dante, Lust, and Pride were left in the room.
"What is it?" Dante asked, indicating a pair of chairs.
Pride didn't sit or answer. He looked at Lust, who stared right back at him.
"Don't worry about her." Dante said. "She will be dealt with later. Now what happened?"
Pride sat and related the story to Dante of the Elric's demise. When he was finished Dante didn't speak. She sat deep in thought until Pride said, "What is our next move? If the stone was created, where is it?"
Dante simply said, "They're not dead."
Pride looked surprised and said, "How do you mean?"
"The Elrics. They're too smart to get themselves killed in an alchemic explosion. They're like their father...resourceful."
"I won't bother to call of the search then. And Mustang will have to be dealt with--"
"Wait." Dante interupted. "Let them think they've outsmarted us. It will put them off their guard and make it easier to capture them and take the stone."
"So you believe the boys have it?"
"There's no doubt in my mind. But before we can take the stone we have to draw them out of hiding. And I know just who to send..."
Dante clapped her hands and touched the wall. Alchemic energy darted across it until it touched the area around Lust. A bright red cross was briefly illuminated before the spikes fell out of Lust's body and clattered on the ground. She fell to her feet and stumbled slightly. Dante waited for Sloth and Wrath to return and laid out her plan.
"Rose dear, why not take the baby upstairs? There's a room already prepared for you there."
