Attack of the gelatinous creatures

The Saiyans had been under the thumb of Freiza for seven years. Before that, the Saiyans were the servants of King Cold. Serving under King Cold had been bad enough but it was nothing compared to living under Freiza. King Cold had some semblance of respect towards the Saiyans in his own way. It was Freiza that treated the saiyans like slaves and, gradually, the saiyans became the laughing stock of the Freiza Force. Many, if not all, saiyans secretly hated Freiza but didn't dare to speak up. Freiza simply overpowered all the saiyans combined. The Freiza Force was gugantuan as well; it was rumored that Freiza was looking to conquer the entire universe and it was horribly certainly true.
Videl and Gohan hadn't had the pleasure of meeting (or even seeing) Freiza in person. Freiza rarely dealt with the saiyans personally.
The ship that Gohan and Videl were approaching was a mid-sized vessel which probably meant that Freiza wasn't on board.
Gohan ran additional scans of the ship. The sensors told him that the engines were dead.
"Should we investigate?" asked Videl.
"Yeah" replied Gohan.
A few moments later both of the saiyan pods had landed in one of the three docking bays available on the ship. Videl and Gohan exited their pods and walked towards the exit.
Videl and Gohan walked to the bridge. While walking there Videl glanced backward, and asked, "You hear that?"
Gohan paused to hear absolutely nothing. He stood there with Videl for several long minutes and strained to hear anything.
"What did you hear?" asked Gohan.
"I'm not sure" said Videl. "sounded like something was slithering behind us"
"Come on," said Gohan. "let's keep going"
The two made it to the bridge without hearing anything at all. Half of the systems on the bridge weren't responding to any command the two entered. After five minutes of searching for answers they came upon one.
Twenty days ago the ship had stopped at a resupply base on a planetoid known as Tarassat. The resupply base had been overtaken by an unidentified alien race of gelatinous creatures. These gelatinous creatures were, as far as anybody could tell, literal slime balls the size of elephants (or a similar creature of that size). The gelatinous creatures appeared as if from nowhere, although it was strongly suspected that they were delivered on Tarassat by a passing ship that had taken a shot at the resupply base two days before.
The gelatinous creatures reproduce asexually as evidenced by the number of the creatures that were discovered on Tarassat; there were a total of twenty-five of these creatures. The creatures seem to absorb living matter for food. The creatures were highly immune to energy weapons and ki attacks as the creatures seem to absorb the energy. An exceptional powerful ki attack might be able to kill these creatures.
The creatures attacked with slimy tendrils and energy blasts that it had absorbed. The slimy tendrils has a paralyzing poison that totally immobilized its potential victims. The paralyzing poison only effects movements such as walking and running but not breathing. The poison only lasts for five minutes. The base was completely devoid of life as the creatures had presumably eaten the personnel in the base.
The ship had landed on the planetoid just long enough to refuel which took a little less than five minutes. While the ship had been refueling all the information on the gelatinous creatures had been downloaded to the ship's computer. In those short five minutes a gelatinous creature somehow made it on board the ship without being detected. The ship was out in the middle of space when eight of the creatures suddenly attacked the crew. The crew managed to kill off five of the creatures before it was clear that the ship was at a lost and so the crew abandoned the ship.
"So," said Videl after reading all the information. "the almighty Frieza Force was defeated by slime balls?"
"This was a science vessel" said Gohan looking over at the manifest. "so it's reasonable to assume that none of the crew were all that great when it came to fighting"
"There's three of those creatures on board this badge" said Videl. "what do you say we take care of the three? I bet we can do it"
Gohan was looking through the manifest of the ship mainly out of curiosity. He paused when he came across a rather unusual entry. The name that caught his attention was Galaire and she was listed as belonging to a species known as the pixen.
"Gohan" said Videl.
"Yes?" asked Gohan looking up from the computer console. Videl was facing the way to the entrance to the bridge. Gohan followed her gaze to see two huge slime balls had entered the bridge.
"Bring it on!" yelled Videl channeling her energy. Gohan's scouter reacted by this action and Videl's power level was displayed on the device. Gohan blinked at the high number that was displayed.
"Since when did you had a power level of 1,200?!" asked Gohan as he, too, powered up. Gohan's power level was 1,450.
"Ever since that sack of rocks Nappa cobbled me good last month" replied Videl as she shot out a ki blast. The ki blast was absorbed by one of the creatures.
"Let's combine our attacks" suggested Gohan.
Gohan and Videl attacked one of the creatures with a combined attack. That seemed to be enough to kill it. The creatures weren't too bright or that strong; the scouter identified the power levels of the creatures to be 340 each.
When the last creature had been killed, Videl had been directly behind it. The creature exploded into a million little pieces and one piece had flown into the mouth of Videl without her noticing.
When the first creature had exploded it left behind a tiny body that Gohan noticed.
The body that had apparently been inside the gelatinous creature was no more than two feet tall. It was a female with elfin looks with a slim body and was wearing typical Freiza Force armor which surprised Gohan that they made armor that small. The unconscious female had two wings that poked out of the back of the armor. The skin of the little female was a very pretty olive tone.
"Who -- or what -- is that?" asked Videl nodding at the unconscious form.
"I don't know" said Gohan going over to the prone female. Gohan's scouter revealed that the power level of the unconscious female was an astonishing 3,500.
"Strong little bitch" observed Videl.
The unconscious female stirred and woke up. She stood at her full height and looked around at Gohan and Videl.
"Who are you two?" asked the female.
"I'm Gohan," replied Gohan.
"And I'm Videl"
The female looked more closely at Gohan and Videl. "You're saiyans"
"Well spotted" muttered Videl.
"Don't get snippy at me, missy" said the female. "I have shoes that are older than both of you combined"
"I'm guessing you were the commander of the ship" said Gohan.
"Third in command" corrected the female. "I stayed behind to deal with those...creatures. I managed to take one of them out before one snuck up on me"
"That's.... rather impressive for someone that small" said Gohan.
"Don't judge by size" said the female. "my name is Galaire by the way. And you two just came on board to rescue me? I thought saiyans only cared for strength and not charity"
"We just wanted to stretch our legs" said Videl.
"We took care of the other two creatures" said Gohan.
"I'm off to find something to eat" said Videl.
Before Gohan or Galaire could stop her Videl walked out of the bridge.
"Where did the rest of the crew go?" asked Gohan.
"The plan was for me to regroup with them at specific coordinates" said Galaire. "you could help me getting the engines back up. Those creatures managed to mess with the engines"
"Okay," replied Gohan. "fair warning, I'm not an engineer"
"Nor am I" said Galaire. "this ought to be fun"
