Mamimi rushed away from the woman that tried to eat her. It wasn't exactly an easy task since absolutely everyone in the vicinity were trying to eat each other. Nobody paid Mamimi much attention as the photojournalist ran for it. She had no idea what was going on. She didn't want to get involved either.
Mamimi broke through a crowd of people and continued to run blindly. She didn't have any idea where she was going and she didn't much care. She changed direction as a black man wearing sun glasses lunged at her. Mamimi now was running down a narrow hallway which led to double doors marked Employees Only. Mamimi burst through the doors to find that she was in a kitchen. Nobody was in the kitchen.
The kitchen was a large room filled with cooking pots and other cooking tools. Mamimi stopped to catch a breath.
"Are you sure nobody is gonna notice us?" came a voice that came from the one other door in the room. Mamimi yelped and, thinking quickly, hid in a rather large pantry as three people entered the kitchen.
"Don't you worry" said a second voice chuckling. "The XK91 did an excellent job of making a distraction"
"That's some robot out there" said a third voice.
" The good doctor is a whiz at making robots " said the first voice.
Mamimi couldn't see who the three people were because of the position of the pantry as well as the sheer size of it.
"Androids" corrected the second voice.
"Alright" said the third voice. " Let's see if we can find--"
"Ixnay on the mission" hissed the second voice. " There are ears everywhere "
"The good doctor hacked the cameras didn't he?" asked the first voice.
"Remember who we are dealing with here" said the second voice.
"So" said the third voice. "Why keep an important item in the kitchen?"
"They wouldn't keep it in here you idiot" said the second voice faintly. "We only met up here. It's in Washu's lab more than likely"
There was a hollow laugh from the third voice. " And how in the world are we gonna get in her lab?! "
The second voice sighed. "With nanobots of course. They make the excellent spies you know. We release them here"
"Nanobots?" asked the first voice.
"Microscopic robots" said the second voice. There was a sound of something opening. "F!y, my pretties! Fly, fly!"
"Dude, really?" asked the third voice.
"Oh hush" said the second voice.
There was a short silence. Whatever was happening outside the kitchen clearly grabbed the attention of the three unknown people.
"I hate to say this" said the third voice. "But what if Washu doesn't have that particular item?"
"She does have it I can assure that" said the first voice. "The good doctor is sure she has it"
"He's been known to be wrong sometimes" said the third voice. " Didn't the good doctor botched that one attempt last time he had a run-in with her? "
There was no response.
"Alright then" said the third voice.
There was a much longer pause.
Footsteps walked over to the pantry. The door to the pantry was flung open and in stepped a black-haired man wearing what looked like a cowboy outfit. On his outfit were the letters "RR" in a red field. The man fumbled looking for the light switch for the pantry was dark. In the instant the lights came on in the pantry, Mamimi made a rush to exit the pantry.
"What the--" said the man. It was the second voice. Evidently Mamimi took the man completely by surprise as he didn't have time to grab her as she ran past him.
Mamimi rushed out of the kitchen without looking at who were the other two people in the kitchen.
Mamimi ran down the corridor and back into the fray. As she did so she glanced back to see if she was being chased. This caused her to run into someone.
"Oof! Watch it!"
Mamimi had run into a black-haired woman who was wearing what looked to be what a dominatix would wear. The woman had a very large gut.
The woman smiled at Mamimi. She then released purple smoke from her body. One whiff of the smoke and Mamimi felt her eyelids getting heavy. Mamimi managed to stay awake.
"No.....no...." said Mamimi in a sleepy voice as she saw the woman open her mouth wide. "Have....to warn someone named Washu....."
" Don't worry my dear" said the hero known as Midnight. "You'll be nice and cozy in my belly"
In the kitchen, Android 17 turned to his two companions.
"Why didn't you grab her?" asked the child known as Z. He was the second voice.
The third voice belonged to someone wearing a mask. "Calm down. If 17 had gone after her the jig would be up"
Z turned to the masked man. "I suppose you're right. It just feels wrong to let her go"
"With any luck she'll be eaten before she can say anything to someone" said the masked man.
Android 17 picked a packet of donuts from the pantry.
The masked man tutted.
"Hey, even Androids get hungry"
The Android known as the XK91 had wandered off after ditching the band that had tried to eat her. She was now quite alone in a small restroom. The Android opened up her arm and talked to the transmitter there.
"Operation has been completed, doctor"
"Very good" came the voice of Dr. Clay. "Unlike my other droids you have yet to fail me"
The XK91 smiled.
The arm closed up and the skin of the XK91 started to bubble and morph into a generic green-haired female. The android hesitated before exiting the restroom.
