Within moments of entering the Dimensional Cafe Amarao felt that old link he had with Haruko activate for lack of a better word. That mental link never really went away. It had faded over the years but it hadn't gone away altogether. With the link active again Amarao could sense the location of his faux mother, that Naota kid, and.......Kitsurubami? Oh no. That must mean that the lieutenant was.......
"Oh wow" said Mamimi as she entered the large foyer of the Dimensional Cafe. Amarao couldn't really blame the young photographer. The foyer had three doors that led to three different locations within the building. One door led to the dining room, one door led to a bathhouse and the third door led to what was labeled "The Giants' Room" . The foyer was decorated with paintings of peaceful fields of flowers and other landscape paintings. The floor was carpeted with a red carpet that covered the whole floor. It also had a small chandelier hanging in the exact middle of the ceiling.
Kitsurubami, as far as Amarao could tell, was somewhere in the dining room while Haruhara was in the bathhouse. While Amarao could sense the locations of everyone that shared the link with Haruhara he couldn't sense the exact locations of said people; he just had a vague impression of their location. Amarao hesitated before going over the entrance to the dining area. Mamimi snapped a picture of the foyer with her ever-present camera around her neck.
Mamimi had spent quite a few years away from Mabase seeking out a job as a photojournalist. She had spent nearly a year trying to land a job at a fashion magazine but failed. Eventually she had gotten a job at a yellow rag known as "The Ghost". "The Ghost" was a magazine that reported on alleged supernatural or extraterrestrial activities and sightings. It wasn't the grand job that Mamimi had envisioned for herself but it was steady work with a steady paycheck. Mamimi had come back to Mabase to report on a recent alleged UFO sighting and had ran into Amarao who was investigating the same sighting. The sighting turned out to be nothing. Probably some hystical housewife that mistook an airplane for an UFO. While Mamimi was in the area she had decided to go see Takkun for old times sake. Amarao and her saw that Haruko woman and Naota speeding away on that yellow vespa of hers.
"You coming?" asked Amarao snapping Mamimi back to the here and now.
"Oh yeah" said Mamimi hurrying over to where Amarao was standing in a queue.
"We're not going to look for Kitsurubami right away?" asked Mamimi.
" She's in the dining area" said Amarao. "And I am rather hungry now. There's no rush"
"That doesn't sound like you" said Mamimi as she looked at the group of people ahead in the queue. It was a group that wore what looked like military uniforms and had weird boxy machinery on each hip.
Eventually the queue moved up and Amarao and Mamimi were quickly led to a booth by the greeter. They were seated at a booth that was somewhat near where Kitsurubami sat.
"Did you happen to feel a tingle when we entered this room?" asked Mamimi.
" Not that I noticed" said Amarao his tone flat.
"This place looks...." started Mamimi. She stopped short when a familiar person walked up to the booth. Someone with pink hair and a sizable pregnant belly.
"Oh looky here" said Haruko. "You found me, my wayward son"
"I'm just here for Kitsurubami" said Amarao.
"Wanna say hello to your sister?" asked Haruko. She paused for a thoughtful moment then said: "or would she be your ---- no, no....She still would be your sister"
" What are you babbling about? " asked Mamimi.
"You won't get a straight answer from her" said Amarao dryly. He then caught the sight of the nametag on Haruko's bass which was slung on her back. " What's The Consortium? "
"The people who run this place" said Haruko as she sat down at the booth right beside Mamimi who sat opposite of Amarao. "They asked me to join their little band and I accepted"
" Quite the step down from mayor" said Amarao.
Haruko shrugged carelessly. "I've taken on many jobs in my lifetime".
The waiter, an old teenager by the looks of him, walked up to the booth. The nametag the waiter was wearing identified him as Gary Oak. Gary glanced at Haruko before taking down orders. Everyone at the booth ordered traditional Japanese cuisine with Haruko ordering some super spicy curry along with some ramen.
"Your orders will be out in a few" said Gary and he walked away from the booth.
"When is the baby due?" asked Mamimi after a lengthy pause.
"Oh it'll be quite some time" said Haruko patting her belly. "My baby likes it in my belly unlike some I could mention"
Mamimi blinked. Amarao rolled his eyes.
" Where's Takkun? " asked Mamimi.
Haruko cackled. "Inside my belly"
Mamimi's eyes grew wide. "What?! You ate him?"
" Not this time" said Haruko smiling widely. "He's in my cozy womb. You want to join him?"
" No" said Mamimi.
Haruko looked over at Amarao. "I suppose you don't wanna join him either"
"That wouldn't be my first choice, no" said Amarao.
"Ah, you two are no fun" said Haruko leaning back in the booth. Haruko lifted up her shirt and started to caress her belly slowly. Mamimi glanced at Haruko....and her eyes went unfocused. Haruko smirked and grabbed Mamimi and forced the native girl's head down on her belly like a pillow. Here, Mamimi started to caress Haruko's belly.
Amarao quirked up a brow. "A new technique?"
"You could say that" said Haruko. "I just discovered it recently. My big fat belly forces people into some kind of trance that turns people into slaves. Maybe I had this ability all along and never discovered it until now"
Amarao opened his mouth, closed it and shrugged his shoulders slightly.
