While Haruko got dressed Naota left the bedroom and headed downstairs. As soon as Naota reached down the stairs he saw the same red bird perched on top of a cupboard. The bird looked to be any other bird.
She's manipulating you....
The voice came from inside his own head. The voice was rich, deep and utterly alien. Naota blinked and stared at the bird. The bird had no eyes....just bright red spots in the vague shape of eyes. It also had a metal ring across its beak. The metal ring looked to be...
"Are you Atomsk?" asked Naota. "You're so much smaller now"
The bird said absolutely nothing for a long moment.
Why assist her? She has made your life miserable
"Because I......love her"
She loves nothing
"She loves you or so I hear" said Naota.
What we have is complicated
"That's what you call it?" came the voice of Haruko from behind. Naota whipped around and instantly knew he had been talking aloud the whole time. He had been both himself and Atomsk.
"I need to talk to you Mr. Bird" said Haruko grabbing Naota's head from each side. The two struggled for a minute when Naota broke free. We have nothing to say to you, Raharu
Haruko blinked. "We?"
The presence of Atomsk faded until it was gone altogether.
"Talk to me you robber" said Haruko.
"He's gone..." said Naota. Haruko glared but her expression quickly softened. Then she tried to push her enormous gut back to its usual skinny state only to have it spring back causing Haruko to stumble and fall to the floor on her back. Naota blinked and laughed. After perhaps a minute Haruko joined in laughing.
"Never mind that now" said Haruko getting up from the floor. She was wearing her usual house attire which was slightly marred by the big gut that Haruko sported.
"Can't get rid of this gut" said Haruko. "Oh well"
Naota then noticed the imprint of a hand inside Haruko's stomach which made him gasp. "Someone's in there!"
"Yeh there is" said Haruko drumming her fingers on her belly. She sounded unconcerned about it.
"Who is it?"
"Don't know and don't much care" said Haruko. "Keep squirming around in there. It tickles"
Naota opened his mouth to say something and closed it and sighed.
