Nothing ever happens in Mabase. Only the ordinary boring stuff that happens every day in any other city. The only thing that's unusual in Mabase is the iron-shaped factory on the hill that overlooks the small city. Or...it WAS the only unusual thing in Mabase. That's when Haruko and Canti came to the city and nothing was the same.
Naota's life was ordinary before he was ran over by a certain Vespa. Since then, robots came from Naota's head and did battle with Haruko. Naota usually got swallowed by Canti, and Naota would help in the battle.
Nothing has come from Naota's head for several weeks now, and Naota is very glad for that. Haruko still lives with him, as a housekeeper. Canti lives there too, doing chores for Kamon, Naota's father. At first, Haruko slept on the top bunk that once belonged to Noata's brother. But, Haruko has come to sleep with Naota these past few months. Nothing sexual ever happened between the two, except for maybe a kiss once in a while. Naota and Haruko were getting closer and closer. Commander Amarao and Kitsurubami hadn't shown themsleves for some time either. Even Haruko was missing her one-time boyfriend (though she'll NEVER admit it in 100,000,000 years). Mamami had disappeared from Mabase, working for a magazine or some such thing. Ninamori came round for dinner once a month or so.
Naota still didn't know too much about Haruko. He didn't know where she had came from. Haruko mentioned that she had taken a wrong turn at Vega, but that didn't help to find out what galaxy she had came from.
Then, came the day when Haruko asked Naota something that would change thier lives forever.
"Wanna get married?"
Naota and Haruko was in thier room after a very long day. Haruko had cooked dinner again--ramen. Naota didn't see the point of arguing that he DIDN'T like ramen to the alien girl anymore. Naota was reading a book when Haruko asked the question.
"What?" asked Naota.
"I asked if you wanna get married" said Haruko, who was on the top bunk bed and plucking at her guitar. Naota was sitting at his desk.
"Yeah, some day" said Naota, returning to his book.
"What are you reading?"
"A biology book" said Naota. "we have a biology test next week and I'm studying for it"
Haruko jumped from the top bunk to the floor, which startled Miyu Miyu who was sleeping in Naota's bunk. Miyu Miyu hissed and ran out of the room.
"Chapter 14: Where babies come from" said Haruko, reading over Naota's shoulder. "I could help you there with that one"
"I know where babies come from" said Naota.
"I could show you where babies come from" whispered Haruko in Naota's ear. "up close and personal"
