“Hi Naru,” Mitsumi said cheerfully, holding up the watermelon so she could better see her friend. The beam missed Mitsumi and instead rebounded off her watermelon and headed downstairs. Out of breath from running, Naru ran to Mitsumi’s side to make sure that the bubbly brunet was all right. Upon seeing no burns or marks on her, Naru sighed in relief that her friend hadn’t been harmed. Shinobu and Su joined the two Tokyo U dreamers quickly.
“Where did the beam from my expando mouth and stomach with quicker eating actin thing a mabob go?” Su asked, as she tried to check under Mitsumi’s skirt. Naru swatted Su’s hands away and looked crossly at the young genius.
“Did you ask where the beam from your what went?” Su looked down embarrassedly and made a circle with her toe. Naru didn’t have to be told what had happened, she already knew the formula. Insert one wacky invention; add an accidental firing and that equals one hazardous situation for everyone. Naru was about to reprimand Su for her potentially dangerous actions, when Shinobu shrieked.
“The beam’s heading downstairs towards Kitsune and Motoko!” Shinobu said gravely. Needing not another second to comprehend what was happening all four girls rushed downstairs.
“Su, why is your beam still going?” Shinobu asked, as they stampeded down the stairs nearly bumping into one another as they did.
“I made it so the beam could only be stopped by hitting a living person. It will just keep bouncing off inanimate objects until it hits someone.” Naru listened in and for once wished Keitaro was here, he could take the beam headfirst for them and no one important would be hurt. They dashed into the dinning room to see the beam reaching for the Kendoist and the fox like woman.
“KITSUNE!” Naru screamed. Then Su screamed, “MOTOKO!” but by then the beam was to close for one of the women to dodge.
