Mandy decides to head downstairs and get breakfast while Jenny is busy. When she gets to the kitchen, she sees her mom laying out plates at the table. Mandy walks up to an empty chair and takes a seat. "Where's Jenny?", her mother asks. "She's getting her Jetty-doll so he can come to breakfast too!" she says happily. Mandy's mother looks confused, "huh? She's bringing who?" It hits her that Mandy must be talking about one of Jenny's dolls. "Oh! No, no, honey. Go back upstairs and tell her no dollies at the table. You know the rules." "Aww! but mom-", Mandy begs. "No means no, Mandy!" her mothers voice makes her cringe. She quietly leaves the table and heads back upstairs.
She waits at the bedside until Jenny comes out of the bathroom. She walks up to Mandy with her hands behind her back and a big smile on her face. She then swings her hands around and presents her little brother. "Ta-da!", she announces while rubbing his head with her finger. "He's all clean and ready for breakfast. Say hi to Mandy, Jetty-doll!" He looks up at Mandy and gives a timid smile and weak wave. Mandy thinks he's adorable, but loses her smile when she remembers the bad news.
She grabs Jetty-doll from Jenny's palm and sets him down gently on the edge of the bed. "Mommy says he can't come to breakfast." "What? Why not?" Jenny asks, almost angry. "She said 'no dollies allowed at the table'", mocking the voice of her mother. "Aww man", Jenny pouted. She looked over to Jet. "Sorry Jet, you gotta wait here while we eat breakfast." Jet looks terrified, shaking his head no while waves his hands in the air. He doesn't want to be left alone. "You really want to come, huh", Mandy frowns. "What if we hide him while we eat?" Jenny suggests. The idea makes Mandy nervous, she doesn't want to risk getting in trouble if her mom finds out. Then again, she feels bad for little Jet. She leans over to him and asks, "can you promise to keep quiet while we eat?" Jet shakes his head yes enthusiastically. "See, he'll be good", Jenny backs him up. "Okay, but I get to hold him", Mandy says as she grabs him. Jenny nods and the three go downstairs.
They can smell the eggs before they get down the stairs. The kitchen is lively, and the table is set. There's abundant helpings of eggs, hash browns, and ham sitting at every spot on the table. Jenny and Mandy take seats across from Mandy's mother and older sister, leaving the chair at the end of the table for Mandy's father. "It smells really good!" Jenny compliments. "Thank you, thank you. It's one of those things you pick up while being a mom", Mandy's mother gloats as she pretends to dust her shoulders off.
The girls dig into the food right away. Jenny is not used to such heavy portions of food, but she likes a challenge. Mandy tries to eat, but is preoccupied with Jet. Even though he's been being quiet, he keeps trying to get her attention. Time and time again, he tugs on her shirt or tries to climb up to the table. She keeps having to grab him and put him back down. After the third time, Mandy decides...
