You can’t see through the milk, but you feel your feet stuck in place. The peanut butter and jelly splashed its way in earlier, coating your body in the thick paste. You try to scrape it off of you, but it’s just too thick to get off with just your hands.
You look up and shout, “please! Let me out! I’ll do anything!” The only response you get is laughter, which splashes the milk around you. Some of it splashes into your mouth, which you do your best to spit out, warm stomach milk isn’t really your thing.
“What could possibly be so bad about being in there? You get to do something that no one else can do, AND you get all the food you can eat.” Tulip asks. You do your best to describe how terrible it is being trapped in a hot fleshy sack with hot clumps of mushy, pre-chewed food. She giggles intensely at your description. You sigh, realizing that she’ll never be able to see things the way you do, and give up.
You float around in the milk and food for a while. After some minutes, Tulip lies down onto her bed and pokes her tummy which churns you around. You don’t bother to complain, you just do your best to follow the air pocket and keep breathing.
Her attention span runs out, and things go quiet for a bit. Well, as quiet as things can be. There is still the sound of air going in and out of the lungs, the heavy bass of Tulip’s heartbeat, and the steady slosh and gurgling of her stomach trying to digest you and the rest of her food. You think that she has fallen asleep, which is fine with you, since it grants you a reprieve.
Tulip startles you when she breaks the silence by saying “Okay bug, I think I can let you out, but I need you to help me with something when you do.” You think for a second, wondering what she’s up to, and ask “… what is it?”
What does she need your help with?
