Getting back to your spot at the table, your sister finally gives you your breakfast. It’s the weekend so you don’t have to rush through your breakfast. You have the whole day to relax and enjoy a day free from the big scary world. You dig in, but not before giving Tulip one last suspicious look. You trust your little sister as far as you can throw her and that isn’t far at all. Ever since she was born, she had done nothing else, but make your life a living hell. As a baby, if you ever got remotely close to her, she’d grab you and use you as a pacifier. Slobbering all over you and making cooing noses as she sucked you dry. Once she accidentally swallowed you and you ended up spending the day in a babies stomach. Normal stomach are pretty big, you’ve ended up in quite a few threw misshapes and your younger sisters sick games, but a babies stomach is about the size of an egg and very cramped. Entrapped in the tiny chamber, you were dosed in baby digestive juices, which barely tingled your tough skin. You escaped when your mother burped Tulip and you were vomited out onto your moms shoulder. After everything that happened to you, your mom ended up yelling at you for getting your sister sick. You know that she was just a baby and didn’t know any better, but you could swear that you saw a happy toothless smile on her face as you were getting admonished.
As she grew bigger and you remained small, Tulip’s method of torture has evolved into a finely tuned instrument of your never-ending suffering. As she took her first steps, she learned how to step on you. When she learned to speak, she learned how to lie where she had stashed you. When she was in the diaper, your were in her diaper and things didn’t improve when she got potty trained, your never going to forget about being flung into that swirling vortex. Every time she’s tried to crush, digest, chew, suffocate, trap and hide, you’ve gotten out by the skin of your teeth. Your mom and older sister have tried to explain to Tulip that you aren’t a toy and killing you is a bad thing, will your sister at least tries. Mom just thinks Tulip is showing her own brand of tough love, which if gets any tougher may separate your head from your shoulders. No matter the times she’s punished or scolded, your sister still tried to inflict more suffering on you. Nevertheless, she did save you from being eaten by mom, so there’s a small chance that she might be starting to get past her evil stage and start treating you like a human being.
You peek back at your sister and study her for a moment. She has short chestnut hair cut in the pageboy style. Her clothes consist mostly of pants and shirts. You can’t think of a single time you’ve ever seen her wear any dresses and has never worn anything pink or especially girly. You guess that you could call your sister a tomboy. Across the table, your sister finishes off her breakfast and whips her mouth with a napkin. Her eyes lock on your own and she again smiles. Only her smile lacks the cruel glint that it usually has and instead looks very warm and friendly.
“I guess your wondering Steve, why I saved you from mom being eaten. Well the truth is that I’ve been thinking and I realized that your family and I should start treating you better. I wont deny that using you has been fun, but it’s time I grew up and stopped using you as an outlet for my frustrations. You’re my brother and I love you. Can you ever forgive me for being such a bitch?” Your sister, Tracy, is beaming proudly at your sister. She thinks it’s great that her sister is finally maturing and becoming a functional member of society. Your mom is misty eyed and sniffling, her baby is growing up and she’s never been prouder. Your just dumfounded. You mind tells you it’s got to be a trick, but your heart disagrees. You find you voice and speak out.
