“Mom, can I keep my pancakes in the fridg... Tiny Way Of Life chapter 6 by copier · original author: me_gts

“Mom, can I keep my pancakes in the fridge till lunch?” Your eyes widen, there is no way you just heard that correctly. You lay still in anticipation of the outcome of the conversation. You look forward and can see that your mother is sitting right across the table from you and your sister. You can see that she is reading the morning paper, but because of the pancake on top of you, there is no way to see her head.

“Why honey? Are you so full you cannot finish your breakfast?” your mother asks. “Pff, I don’t think there is any room left mom”. You find that hard to believe, she just want you in the fridge. But your mother is a bit reluctant, maybe there is some hope left! Maybe she has been watching Tulip and will save you the last moment!
“I don’t know honey, there almost isn’t enough room left in the fridge to put the pancakes” Your mother replies, and with that remark your last hope is also gone. “Give your plate to me, then I will finish them”.

But Tulip isn’t planning to share and quickly gets up and walks to the fridge and opens the door. She looks into the fridge and notices that the fridge is indeed almost full. There are a lot of Tupperware in the fridge, but she notices that there is room for one container more. Tulip smiles and opens a cabinet next to the fridge containing the Tupperware and gets one out. She also takes a marker and a etiquette and sits back at the table.

Your mother is watching Tulip amused but says nothing. Your sister is looking at your mom and says “I’m sorry mom, but I really like the taste of the pancakes and have prepared them already, so if you don’t mind I’ll eat them during lunch.” You already know that your mother will give in to your sister, so you start to squirm. “Also, I found a nice spot for one more container, and it is only for a few hours”. Then I will get it out and rinse it, ok mommy?” Suddenly your view is blocked by a container and you know that will be your extra prison. You double your struggles to get out and get seen, but you don’t make any progress.

Your mother smiles sweetly at Tulip and says that it is ok, and with that she start reading her paper again. Your sister eyes your mother and when she is sure that she isn’t looking she quickly lifts up the pancakes and peers through the crack. She sees her brother fighting to get out, but unable to. You see your sisters face through the crack and Tulip waves a goodbye! You are furious with your sister, but all the sounds are muffled.

Then without warning you feel the pancakes drop and she gently places the pancakes in the container. You are on the edge and have a distorted view of the outside. You notice a shadow above and suddenly the air pressure is a bit different. Tulip placed the lid on the container. You are so frustrated with the whole situation. Instead of a lazy weekend you are imprisoned in pancakes, which are imprisoned in a container and will soon be imprisoned in the fridge.

The container is turned with Tulip’s hand and you notice she is writing a etiquette with her other hand. Although distorted you see her picking it up and sticks it to the side of the container in your view. You almost laugh if it wasn’t so sad. The writing simply said “Tulip’s food”, and she wasn’t wrong.

Tulip is admiring her handywork and enjoys the fact that her brother was in that very container sharing the fate of the pancakes in it. She gets her glass of milk and leans back on her chair while drinking. She gently starts to tap on the container and savouring the moment. Suddenly her mother startled her . “Well, put it in the fridge then”. Not wanting to risk getting caught, she quickly gets the container and walks to the fridge. She opens the door and gently places the container in the right spot, making sure her brother was looking outside. She taps it one more time, and slowly started to close the door.

You are frustrated beyond believe, but there is not a single thing you can do. You just have to endure the view of the closing fridge and face the fact that for the next couple of hours you are nothing but Tulips food, waiting to be consumed.

“Good girl” is the last thing you hear from your mother before the lights went out.
