Into the Ravénous Café walked a tall Asian woman with short black hair. She was wearing sweats, which on her shapely body didn’t seem make her that bad looking. Jon recognized her as Videl, the teenage girlfriend of Gohan from Dragonball Z series. She looked weary, but also excited to be here. Jon could tell right away that he had a very hungry customer here, who wasn’t going to be leaving until they either ran out of meals or her belly buckled. He stepped up to her to formally greet her.
“Welcome, may I take you to your table?” Jon gave Videl a bow because he knew she was from an oriental world, where such things were commonplace. Videl smiled at the courteous gesture.
“Actually, could you get me a towel first. I just came from training and I’m a little sweaty,” Videl replied with a slight blush. She had wanted to clean up before eating, but her hunger had won out and she’d decided to go eat before showering. Jon nodded to her request and walked quickly to the bathroom to pick up a towel for the waiting customer. He weaved past tables, avoiding bloated customers with wiggling bellies. He moved out of the way in time to miss Bunny, who was carrying a huge covered tray holding God who knows who. He reached the bathroom and found a neatly stacked pile of towels near the sink. Often there were messes when eating live people, so towels were kept in the bathroom for the messes too big for napkins. Taking one from the top, Jon rushed out of the bathroom and back to Videl. She gratefully took the towel from him and swabbed her forehead of sweat.
“What service,” Videl commended. “I think there’s a special tip in store for you.”
Blushing like a schoolgirl, Jon looked at his feet embarrassedly. He had only been doing his job of keeping the customers happy. Maybe he had done more then what was expected of him, but he didn’t mind. After all, the last thing he wanted to do was get on the bad side of someone that could eat him.
“Would you like to be taken to your table?” Jon humbly asked.
“Of coarse,” Videl answered cheerfully. She was still hungry and needed a nice meal to fill her belly. Jon took her to her table, passing the customers he’d speeded by a moment ago. Once they’d gotten to their table, Videl sat down and was handed a menu. Jon started to leave, but Videl quickly stopped him.
“I need your opinion. My boyfriend…er… I mean sensei,” Videl corrected herself. Thee was no reason for Jon to know she was attached, yet. “He eats tons and gets really strong and fights really well. I know on occasion him and his family eats here and orders a blend of different people. I was told that the gender of the meal sometimes determines the calories and fat. What gender would you suggest I order from if I want to gain muscles?” Jon thought about it. He’d heard something about different genders have different affects on the body once they’re digested. But which one was the best for Videl?
