Kotono was out of breath as she ran to Arata's room. She barged in startling the latter. It was evening and they finished their dinner.
"Kotono?Hope this isn't her trying to show her love for me. She's my youngest sister!" Arata asked as he went into defensive stance as he sat on the floor of his room with his laptop.
"Help...me....Arata-onii-chan....I feel funny." Kotono said as she was sweating profusely and out of breath.
Arata immediately got up and ran to her. "She's burning up. Banri-nee!" He yelled.
Banri ran into his room as soon as as she heard Arata call out.
"What is it, Arata....Kotono?" Banri yelled in concern as she rushed over.
Arata explained what happened as Banri checked on her. Ouka, Seiha, Minami and Shion followed up.
"What wrong with Kotono?" Ouka asked in concern.
"We better get her to a hospital!" Banri yelled.
They all got into the family van and rushed to the nearby hospital. Their father came afterwards as the doctors began their test as Kotono was in the ECU. The family could only wait for the results.
Ouka and Minami crying with Shion and Arata trying to comfort them. Banri, Seiha and their father talked what could be possibly wrong with Kotono. They didn't know how long they had been there. Then the head doctor came up. They all ran towards him.
"How's Kotono, doctor?" Their father asked.
"She's stable. For now." He said blantly.
"So what is wrong with Kotono?" Ouka pleaded.
"Ahem." The doctor cleared his throat. "After several tests, we concluded that Kotono has been diagnosed with Merlin's disease."
"Merlin's disease?" Arata said, confused.
"It's an age regression disease." Seiha explained.
It shocked all of them as the doctor nodded.
"You mean she's gonna get younger?" Ouka asked.
"Technically yes. We don't know if it'll affect her mental, physical or both. It's a very rare disease." The doctor explained. "Is there any lineage that someone in the family before had experienced?"
They shook their heads. They didn't know who Kotono's family were. And they only found out they weren't siblings only Shion and Minami being real twins. The doctor only looked concern.
"Is she awake doctor?" Their father asked. The doctor nodded as he guided them to the recovery room.
Kotono was awake with dextrose attached to her. The siblings cried in joy as the girls hugged Kotono while the guys looked on. Banri told her her sickness as Kotono was confused.
"Does that mean...I'm getting younger?" Kotono asked. The doctor nodded.
"How young, doctor?" Their father asked.
The doctor only shrugged and shook his head. "As I said before, we have little information on this sickness. We can only observe for now. We'll do everything we can for her."
"Kotono does look a little younger." Minami whispered to Seiha who agreed.
The siblings noticed Kotono's dress was a bit loose on her. She was a bit shorter. After a few days, she was released and went home. Everyone was happy and said they'd do everything to help her which Kotono was grateful for.
"We have to keep an eye on her. We don't know how young she'll get. We can see her body is already smaller." Banri said to her other sibling.
"Of course, we'll protect her." Arata said with Shion.
"We'll do our best to keep her comfortable." Minami followed up.
"I hope I don't get too young." Kotono thought worried for herself and her love for Arata.
