Yayoi frowned. Behind her, Eiko watched nervously as her cousin paced.
Yayoi was trying not to let her frustration show, but... she knew that Eiko could tell that she was unhappy. And that in turn only made Eiko feel worse. After all, Eiko was the one who would die if the curse succeeded, not Yayoi.
Eiko gulped nervously. If Yayoi was feeling so frustrated that the normally stoic-looking girl was visibly upset, then things must have been really bad! And that... that sent a shiver of fear down her spine.
What if they couldn't break the curse?
What would happen then?
Would her big belly- she already looked to be full-term with an average-sized baby- swell even more, until her poor belly just couldn't expand any further?
Would she explode just like Saki?

Meanwhile, while Eiko was busy fretting about her possible fate, Yayoi was wracking her brain for answers.
She knew what was wrong.
The angels weren't the source of the curse, it had to have been something to do with the strange altar she'd seen earlier.
And that was the problem.
The altar was gone.
And not just the altar- the house's very layout had changed. Yayoi (and Eiko, waddling slightly behind her) had circled the inside of the house three times over now... and the entire room that the altar had been in had vanished!
'This... this is bad. If I don't find that altar, and find out what the curse's source is from it... Eiko will... Eiko will...' Even in her thoughts, Yayoi couldn't bring herself to form the words.
If she didn't solve the curse's mystery, Eiko would die.

What happened to the altar? No, the real question- what did Saki do with the finger bone?
1) Saki hid the finger bone somewhere else in the house! Good luck finding such a tiny object!
2) Saki might not be able to go far from the house... but nothing stopped her from throwing the bone as far away as she could! Hah, good luck finding it now!
3) Saki swallowed the finger bone! Good luck retrieving it now!
