The first thing that Izuna noticed while channeling power into her classmate's engorged belly was that...
Yes, she was definitely pregnant. The fetus growing inside of her didn't seem to be out of the ordinary...
Other than the fact that it was already this big! According to Pear, she'd been perfectly normal just a few days ago, and yet in only a short amount of time the girl had swelled up big enough that she couldn't close her hoodie! Her pink camisole was likewise ill-fitting for such a large abdomen, riding up high enough that Pear's belly button was exposed. The girl's jeans shorts were only barely staying buttoned, with each breath Izuna could see the straining waistband struggle to stay closed and not pop the button off of.
Oh, and there was one more factor that was of critical importance to Izuna.
The fetus inside of Pear's belly looked...
Well, it looked like it was dead! Or maybe... undead?
Either way...
'Hmm... this... probably isn't good. How did such a thing get into her in the first place? Should she tell Pear that it was, well, a zombie fetus inside of her? It might not be a good idea to give her all the details just yet. Izuna still didn't know much about just what had happened to her classmate.'
"Well... There's definitely something in your uterus, Pear. It must be a cursed spirit causing you to swell up like this!"
Pear didn't really know if she liked that answer. It was more or less what she'd been afraid of hearing. Had she been cursed? By who? And more importantly, how?!
"C-can you do something about it?"
"Of course! Though my services don't come cheaply..." Izuna chuckled while Pear sighed.
"That's what I was afraid of..." The shorter girl frowned while gently patting her enlarged middle.
"Well, we'd better get started investigating this right away! First off, do you remember seeing anyone strange or unnatural looking lately? Or maybe visiting a place that gave you an eerie feeling from? You could've been infected by a spirit if you strayed to close to it's domain." Izuna questioned, listing off some sample questions that would hopefully get the investigation started. Or at least narrow down the causes for why Pear was suffering from what Izuna could only label as a 'freak sudden pregnancy.'
'I still don't want to tell her that whatever is inside her might be dangerous... I don't know enough about whatever did this to her to be able to solve it yet, and telling her more than she needs to know might make her panic!' Izuna thought to herself.
Having had a spirit-related pregnancy herself, Izuna could safely say that it definitely wasn't a desirable circumstance. But back then, the boze in Izuna had been distinctly non-malicious, and right now... she had a sinking suspicion that what was inside of Pear wasn't so friendly...
1) Now that she mentions it, Pear did see something odd just a few days ago...
2) Nope, nothing! Pear honestly can't think of a single thing out of the ordinary that happened within the last week. (She didn't feel the curse infecting her/making her sick like it did in the manga.) Izuna tries to run some other tests to get more clues about what's in Pear and how to exorcise it.
3) Pear can't think of anything, and goes home for the day... And when Izuna steps out of her house the next morning, a frantic Pear is standing there- and she's even bigger than the previous day!
