"Ow!" Saya yelled as she winced while gripping her belly. Movement visible from Saya's belly as Saya went to an upright sitting position. "What was that?!?" She yelled at her belly.
"I guess they connected." Dr. Hiratsuka said smiling as she saw the surprised reaction from Saya.
Yuriko smiled as well and said, "So that means Saya is officially Sumiko's son's new mother?"
"That is correct, Yuriko." The doctor said as she was looking the medical instruments surrounding Saya.
A nurse had switched out one of the dextrose packets with a new one as Saya rested on the bed for a few minutes. The anesthesiologist had removed the tube for the anesthesia and explained that Saya will feel numb for the next half hour until her sense of feeling comes back. Saya relaxed on the bed while looking at her mother.
"I'm proud of you for doing this, Saya!" Yuriko said happily while stoking her daughter's hair. Saya smiled, feeling happy for being praised by her mom.
Then Saya winced in pain as she jolted upright again! Grasping her belly in pain as she felt the two struggle within her.
"Looks like the theory worked. Either you or Alice had created an umbilical cord to connect to each other. Thus makes Alice safe." The doctor explained once more.
"But does it cure her sickness?" Saya asked as she held her belly.
The doctor's face turned to concern, "Usually, it is indicated that the womb can cure all sicknesses but we have to see to believe. If we get out of the outbreak and survive then we will be able to witness the results."
Saya was concerned as well and her mother also. After what seemed like half an hour, Saya could feel her legs again while other doctors and nurses were checking for her well being thought Saya said she was fine. She wasn't accustomed to her new weight resting on her hips as she sat on the edge of the bed. Saya looked at her belly. She had her left side which she thinks is Alice which is larger than Sumiko's child that's on her right side, giving her belly an odd shape inside of her blouse.
"Will the sickness affect Sumiko's child?" Saya asked Dr. Hiratsuka.
She nodded, "That is a high possibility since most rare sicknesses are hereditary. Though through unbirth, I believe that it can cure her sickness hopefully." Dr. Hiratsuka added.
