Saya went to her room to check on Alice who ran to her room when she heard that she was going to be left behind with Zeke. She found Alice on bed who seemed to be out of breath. Saya was shocked and ran to see how Alice was doing.
"Alice? What's wrong?" Saya said worriedly as checked on Alice. She was sweating a lot and was holding her body.
Alice looked at Saya, "Sorry, I didn't tell you but I was sick but I don't know what. My dad knew but never told me." she said.
"Take it, easy. Let's get you to the infirmary and see what the doctor there can find out." Saya said as she carried Alice while Zeke ran alongside with her.
The Infirmary was at the bottom floor on the opposite side of the garage where Kohta was with Matsudo. Koichi Shido in which Rei who had now recovered from her back injury wanted to attack him but was stopped by Saya. Despite their indifferences, they were shocked that Souichiro, Saya's father knew Shido's father. They were now talking at his office. Komura and everyone felt it was time to leave so they were getting ammo and supplies but the truck was still getting fixed.
Back at the infirmary, Saya waited patiently as the head female doctor, Dr. Hiratsuka, a former medic turned doctor, loyal to the ultra nationalists was looking at the results of Alice's blood tests. Alice who was lying on the bed seemed fine Saya sat with her as Zeke was laid below Alice's bed but Saya noticed something odd about her.
"Is it just me or does Alice look younger?" Saya thought as she squinted while holding her glasses.
Just then the doctor came back, she had a serious look on her face.
"Alice has Merlin's sickness." Dr. Hiratsuka said with a stern look on her face.
"Isn't it that rare sickness that causes age and mental regression?" Saya answered, "But I thought that was a one in a billion!"
The doctor sighed, "Yes, it is and Alice was unlucky to be the one."
Saya gulped as she looked at Alice who now looked she was now five years old, "What's wrong, Saya?" she asked as Saya nodded at patted her head.
"Nothing." Saya said. "Not like she could understand anything. No wonder her father never told her anything."
"We don't know how far she will regress. It can be either physical only, like what is happening to her now but we don't know if she also has mental regression but her recognizing you seems to delete that theory but it may occur later on in her regression." the doctor explained.
"So what's the best possible way to heal her." Saya asked the doctor while folding her arms beneath her breasts.
"There is no medicine other than an unethical method." Dr. Hiratsuka answered.
"Which is?" Saya asked once more.
"Unbirth. We have certain medicines here that can help with unbirth but all are theoretical and haven't had any field data on them. If she is not treated then she will surely regress to a newborn and die." the doctor said which startled Saya.
"Guess we have no choice then, doctor." Saya said.
"So we are going with the procedure? You know you will become a mother but there's no telling if it will be successful." the doctor answered.
Saya smiled, "I have my trust in you, Dr. Hiratsuka." Saya said. "It gives a way for me to still have her as part of the group." she thought. Saya couldn't believe how lucky she was.
The doctor nodded, "Then I will need to record the data and notify your mother."
"Wait! Why!" Saya yelled in shock, startling some of the staff nurses, Zeke and Alice. "Oh, all right!" Saya said in defeat. "So when do we begin the procedure?" She asked.
The doctor answered....
"Alice? What's wrong?" Saya said worriedly as checked on Alice. She was sweating a lot and was holding her body.
