It's an odd feeling to realize you're shrinking. At first, you don't really comprehend the seriousness of the situation. After all, shrinking should be impossible, right? The novelty of the situation lulls you into a false mindset, where you don't really start to fear until you're well into the process. Instead, you're simply comfortably numb for the first little while, which is why you walked with Ami behind the diner and into a back alley without struggling at all, much less raising a single complaint. By the time you had started screaming, you were well away from a public area, and the noise did nothing but annoy Ami. "Shhh, calm down," she told you, seeming sympathetic but oddly resigned from your situation, like an assassin regretting having to kill an innocent bystander who had witnessed the act.
"Ami, you've got to help me! I'm shrinking! Use your magic or something," you plead. She looks at you with eyes almost as sad as your own. By now, your clothes are big enough to cover you, like giant blankets, trapping you inside. "I'm sorry. I had to do it. Nobody can know the truth. It's alright, I'll take good care of you." You don't understand. Your mind is mush from sheer terror. A giant hand reaches into the pile of clothes and pulls you out, just over an inch tall and nude as the day you were born. You immediately blush, and try to cover up your private areas. Ami notices, and wraps you in a handkerchief before placing you in her purse. "I'll let you out when we get home.
