A quick phone call, and the two of you decide to meet in a local diner for lunch. You mention nothing more than a case she might be able to help with, something she's eager to do. You'd always known Ami as a good-hearted person, willing to go far out of her way to help those who needed it. She was also somebody who kept fairly good tabs on local criminals, an easy task given her superhuman abilities, and would almost certainly know who was missing and if there were any patterns in the disappearances.
You had also had kind of a thing for her. She was a couple years younger, sure, but she was also one of the most capable human beings you knew. Not that you were incredibly blatant with your crush, or anything. You were pretty sure Ami had her own boyfriend already, and you weren't going to bug somebody like her over it. You'd enjoy your company, but until you knew she wanted more, you were going to keep it strictly to friendship. And, after all, what's cooler than having a friend who can leap tall buildings in a single bound and save the world from evil multiple times over?
When you reached the diner, she was already in her seat. Coffee for the both of you sat on the table, "I wasn't sure what you wanted," she says as you take a sip, "So I haven't ordered yet." You called over the waitress, and then the two of you get down to business. She's heard of the missing gangsters, sure, and started her own investigation, but she's as stumped as you. There's no trace of them whatsoever. Yes, she'd definitely be willing to work with you on this, but she barely knows where to start. Perhaps simply keep a lookout and try to catch whoever it is in the act? Your food arrives, and the two of you dig in hungrily. By the end of the meal, a partnership has been formed over the case. She won't even accept half the payment, claiming she doesn't need money to do a good deed. You at least offer to pay her part of the bill, and eventually she accepts. As the two of you head out...
