Looking down at his diminutive father, Shinji sighed and picked him up in his hand. He didn't really want to waste too much time here, after all, he had three lovely women that wanted his company, but at the same time, merely leaving Gendo alone didn't seem right. Mostly because he knew if left alone, Gendo could try to do something. To emphasize this, when he picked his father up, Shinji took the minuscule pistol he held and tossed it to the side.
"Where are you taking me?" Gendo asked, his soft voice attempting to remain calm and collected, but obviously filled with fear.
"I'm going to take you to Ritsuko," Shinji replied hurredily. "She'll know what to do."
"Well," Gendo continued, somewhat relieved by Shinji's declaration, "as you can see by this...event, whether expectedly or not, you have the ability to alter reality in such a way that events can be changed on a global scale. Therefore, it becomes ideal that you can not only restore the world to the way it was, but also accelerate Human Instrumentality. We cannot...
As Shinji headed towards Ritsuko's lab, Gendo went on and on and on about how he was going to use Shinji to change the world and accomplish all of his goals. None of it really mattered to Shinji for several reasons. He had no idea how he had shrunk his father, he had no time to deal with this at the moment, and more importantly, even if he did know how was doing it, he wouldn't use his power for one man's benefit while the rest of the world suffered.
"Ritsuko?" Shinji questioned as soon as he entered the lab. The blonde scientist appeared surprised by his appearance.
"Shinji? What are you still doing here? Don't you have someone to take care of? I know how much Misato hates waiting."
"Well actually," Shinji began, unsure of how to explain the situation, "I found something in the hall."
"Something?" Ritsuko asked curiously. "What's something?"
Taking his hand from behind his back, Shinji revealed what 'something' was to Ritsuko. A tiny three inch version of her commanding officer and Shinji's father was resting in his hand. Her lighthearted tone suddenly vanished as she took in the sight.
"Is that?"
"I don't know how he got this way," Shinji explained, which was mostly true. "I just found him like this."
"I see," Ritsuko answered, not taking her gaze off of Gendo.
"Can you do something about it? I really need to get going."
Ritsuko nodded, and Shinji placed his father on a table filled with equipment before running out of the lab towards the car. Ritsuko, however, was so fixated on Gendo that she didn't even notice the young man leave.
"Dr. Akagi," Gendo announced bluntly, standing as tall and firm as he possibly could at his minuscule size.. "That boy is the key to undoing the changes that have been occurring to the world these past few months. After you restore me, we need to capture him and force him to undo the damage that has been done. I already know how it is to be done."
It was at that point Gendo noticed Ritsuko was still staring.
"Dr. Akagi!"
