It was a necessary evil, I suppose. Whoever this...monster is came from a wormhole on Earth. I'll follow her here, in this body, and return.
Unknown to Ryoko, she had only scratched the surface of Primaron's elaborate plot. The truth was the revenge driven scientist had dozens of laboratories crawling over unknown reaches of space where they would not be disturbed. Since a biological body only lasted about 75-80 years on average, and the threat of death could easily destroy a body, Primacron took several steps to ensure his survival by having multiple cloned bodies in each of these bases. If one body failed, a biological modem inside the cloned brain could easily transfer the consciousness along with any residual data into a new body. It was just a way for Primaron to level the playing field, after all, not everyone had access to a tree of immortality.
This time however, he had tried something different. Rather than send his mind into another clone body, he had it directly transferred to the energy form of Torn II. To directly control his creation would ensure total success and the destruction of Earth, along with the successful acquisition of the artifact.
Hitching a ride on the ship in the coldness of space, he waited. It wouldn't be long now.

Ryoko sighed, having just finished up what in her opinion had been a whole lot of nothing. The planet had nothing on it that seemed the least bit helpful to shrink Mihoshi, and even if it did, the whole thing was atomized anyway so there was no evidence.
"The rewards of my work," Ryoko sighed, looking out towards the distant cold of space. The man next to her seemed to pick up on this.
"You alright?"
"No," Ryoko began, thinking of the best way to spin the story. "I came out here hoping to find a way to stop an energy-absorbing monster."
"Monster?"
Ryoko nodded, continuing. "A scientist found a signal coming from here which I charged towards. As soon as I got here, my ship was captured and I was thrown in jail." Sure there was a few details missing, but she wasn't about to go into them.
"Monster? I think I can help you out," the man replied.
"Really?"
"Yup. Name's Kuperland, or Kup for short. I'm a private investigator for a company near the planet Murrieta. They've sent me all over the galaxy dealing with crap like energy absorbing monsters and copyright thieves."
"So what do I do?"
"Easy," Kup answered, looking over the computers by Ryoko's seat. "If I modify the frequency of the energy being fired, instead of it being absorbed, it should cause a violent chain reaction which should destroy the creature outright."
Ryoko grinned. Maybe this trip wasn't a complete waste after all. "So, what do you want in return?"
"Just take me to a part of the galaxy near something. No way am I gonna get a cab ride out here."

Slowly, Primaron, in his new energy form, rode right through the wormhole on the back on the woman's ship, finally noticing light at the end. The ship had stumbled upon the planet he had viewed so carefully over the past few days. Looking around, he saw the ship descend to the planet, something he would do soon.
Looking around however, he found something intriguing. A capsule, floating in space. Getting close to it, he found the body of a female, dead from suffocation. He recognized it instantly.
"The other lapdog. Perhaps you are still of some use to me..."
