Ryoko didn't bother waiting for any signal or a similar sign. Instead, she fired a massive bolt of energy at the door in front of her, vaporizing it into atoms. Grinning, Ryoko figured if she was going to escape, she'd cause as much damage to the prison as possible in the process. After all, there was no prison in the universe that could hold the Devil Caller.
The person in the cell next to her was completely unaware of what she had planned until the explosion.
"What in the hell?"
"Stand back old man," Ryoko yelled before blowing the wall between the two into dust. After a brief bit of smoke emerged, she found herself looking at a rather ordinary looking man resembling an Earthling in his fifties, ordinary except for the fact that his arm was mechanical.
"Can you fight?"
"Sure I can. I didn't end up on this scuzzball looking for the sights. You ready?"
Ryoko nodded, as almost on cue, several of the skeletal robots patrolling the hallways began running towards the cell to examine the disturbance, long black rifles at the ready to blast the three escaping prisoners. Ryoko grinned, running forward.
"Hey wait!" the man behind her called back, but Ryoko paid him no mind. She was angry, and now she had something to take it out on.

Finally, the Torn II is complete. This time, controlled by remote guidance, no one will be able to interfere with my plans. I will oversee the complete destruction of Earth and the silencing of that traitor. This will...
WHAT?! An escape in the prison?! No one must know I am here! Kill them!"

The smoldering remains of metal and debris littered the ground beneath Ryoko's feet. Not content with merely escaping, the angry space pirate was determined to reduce the entire prison to rubble, as well as get her hands on the idiot who would try to imprison her.
"Heh, and they call this hard?" Ryoko laughed as she walked past the destroyed robots. "I've seen playpens easier to break out of."
"Yeah, but look, there are a lot more of those can-digging, grill cracking things!" the old man next to Ryoko pointed out. Sure enough, about a dozen more armed robots began moving forward.
"Try and find something useful, like a way to get off this rock," Ryoko ordered. "I'll deal with these things." Nodding, the man ran off in the opposite direction, leaving Ryoko to plow through the guards. The machines crashed against her sword and energy bolts much like the water against the rocks. No matter how many came forward, they, along with entire empty prison cells, were reduced to rubble.
"Execute her!" the shadowed man on the throne shouted, but his shouts were soon silenced as Ryoko stood right in front of her.
"H...how did?"
"Like this," Ryoko answered, placing her energy sword directly into the chest of the shadow. Two seconds later, the figure vanished, confirming Ryoko's suspicions.
"A hologram. What's wrong, too scared of one girl?" Ryoko shouted aloud even as she smashed the throne. Having done that merely to send a message, she was surprised when it revealed a doorway. In most of these cases, it was a secret passage that either led to an escape route or the lair of the guy in charge. A win win for Ryoko, because she could escape or find the man in charge and see if her mom was onto anything sending her over to this dead planet.
Examining the doorway, Ryoko failed to notice the pit below her bubbling as a very large creature leapt from the murky pool. With a terrifying shrill blanketing the entire prison, Ryoko turned around to notice the source, a gigantic sea creature resembling a cross between a phirana and an alligator with rows upon rows of teeth in front of its large mouth, diving for the morsel next to the throne. Ryoko had no idea how it got up there, or what was keeping it down, and to be frank, didn't care. Whipping out her sword, she flew towards the creature and sliced it in half, watching as the two parts fell back into the pit from which it emerged.
"Nice try, but I guess I ougtha thank you for getting rid of that pest," she mused. Turning back towards the door, Ryoko saw Ryo-Ohki having already opened it with a simple push, running through to the other end. Realizing she had come too far to simply turn back now, Ryoko ran forward. If an answer to shrinking Mihoshi was behind the door, then maybe this would have all been worth it. If not, well, at least she'd be out of the jail.
