Later that evening...
The house lay quiet, with almost no one awake. When Mihoshi and Tenchi had returned home, they quickly made up an excuse about having swam to the opposite end of the lake and Mihoshi's precarious sense of direction getting them both lost for about an hour. The rolling eyes that Ayeka and Ryoko gave her practically screamed that they weren't buying the story for a split second.
Still, they didn't act on their suspicions, for the moment. Dinner came and went and everything for the most part seemed normal. Tenchi was going to hold back on any public declarations of affection for the moment. He still cared enough for the others to realize any act of reciprocated affection in the household would probably mean a civil war, and he didn't want to test his dad's insurance out yet again.
Washu strangely enough, hadn't show up when the pair had returned home, nor for dinner. This usually meant she was working in the laboratory, probably on Mihoshi's condition. Washu had seemed rather reluctant to leave the laboratory earlier, but usually, she would at least leave for a brief moment to stretch or get something to eat, no matter how involved she was with her work.
Mihoshi meanwhile, could only wait for her next opportunity to bed her love, hoping honestly that Washu failed at returning her to normal size, or at least hoping she had the courtesy to wait a month or so. Sleeping in the guest room, thoughts of what new pleasures she could show Tenchi filled her mind as she fell asleep, extremely similar to the thoughts of revenge on the amazon that filled the sleeping heads of Ryoko and Ayeka.
However, as Mihoshi's mind went to a peaceful sleep, her body rose from the bed, under the control of another. The Torn, unable to directly control Mihoshi while her mind was active, decided to wait until she was asleep before assuming control. Still awestruck over the overload of pleasurable emotions it felt earlier, its mind attempted to return its focus to the objective at hand.
Sneaking through a building in a ten foot body would not be easy, but the creature managed, its inherit senses noticing the pulsating energy that matched the signals that the creator had instructed it to look out for. It looked around, but only silence greeted it.
Then it heard a creak. Was someone there? It couldn't be sure. Observing the area, there was no visible movement, but that wasn't a guarantee. The host's memories showed the silver-haired alien possessed the qualities of a wave packet, which could phase between time at 3 second intervals allowing herself to travel through walls and other solid surfaces. Such a creature would be difficult to detect.
Nevertheless, the Torn pushed forward, finally arriving at a door. It could sense the artifact waiting inside. Slowly opening the door, the massive amounts of energy beckoned to the creature. The doubt that was gnawing away at its resolve was for now, suppressed, but there was no telling what would cause it to rise again.
