The Capsule houses were all stocked with food. It took Riza a considerable amount of willpower not to eat all the food in all the Capsule houses. Riza could've demolished all the food that was available in about an hour. Riza knew full well that her hunger wouldn't be satisfied if she did eat all the food available in the houses. No amount of food would satisfy her endless hunger.
Riza resigned herself to go on patrol over the encampment again. She needed to do something that would occupy her full attention to ignore the hunger.
Riza stood at the very edge of the encampment. She was sniffing at the air, catching all the smells of the surrounding forest. She caught a whiff of something big that was far off. The smell was that of the nomu that had attacked her and Lust earlier. So...there were more than one of those...things..here in this dimension after all. The smell wasn't coming any closer or so Riza thought. The smell was so far away that she could hardly tell if the smell was coming towards the encampment or not.
Black Hayate was at Riza's side. The dog was softly growling. Riza surmised that Black Hayate could smell the nomu as well.
"I smell it too, boy" muttered Riza.
Riza looked around to see the stillness of the forest. Everything was quiet save for the calling of birds and the buzzing of insects.
Suddenly, Riza caught whiff of another scent. It was a familiar scent. It was the scent of that Revy woman. The smell of Revy was in almost the opposite direction of the scent of the nomu. The smell of Revy wasn't quite downwind but was nearly so. So much so that Riza could hardly smell Revy at all.
Within moments, a great shadow fell over the encampment. Riza looked up to see that a dragon had flown over the encampment. The dragon was definitely Revy.....but she looked radically different now.
Revy had been a humanoid dragon the last time Riza had seen the vulgar Revy. But now Revy had clearly undergone a transformation. Revy looked more like a traditional western dragon. Revy was now 60 feet long and had a wingspan of nearly 100 feet or even more. Revy's scales were now a midnight blue that emitted small wisps of blackness.
Revy landed right in the middle of the encampment. For a second, Riza met Revy's gaze before Revy transformed into a human. The change was nearly instantaneous.
The human Revy was wearing a black shirt that showed off her trim midriff and jean shorts. Revy had some kind of tattoo one shoulder. Revy had a gun holdester strapped to her chest with two guns within each of the holdster.
Revy pulled out a pack of cigarettes from her back pocket and lit it with a flame that came from her finger. Revy then proceeded to take a long pull of the cigarette, nearly burning it to the filter.
"Damn, that's good" muttered Revy as she made her way towards Riza. It was then that Riza noticed that Revy was wearing a gold necklace. The necklace was rather loose on Revy. It was clear that the necklace was meant to be worn by something big, like a dragon perchance.
"Revy?" asked Riza. "what happened to you?"
Revy took a long look around the encampment. Revy's eyes were also different from before. They were now midnight blue with a slit for a pupil.
"Like my new duds?" asked Revy, grinning away. "it's all thanks to this little bauble I found in some ancient ruins"
Revy fingered the necklace around her neck. It looked to be an ordinary necklace, albeit an oversized one.
Revy pulled out another cigarette from a back pocket, lit it up, and started to smoke it much more slowly than the first one. Revy blew the smoke right in Riza's face. Riza said nothing but swatted at the smoke to fan it away from her.
"And you still smoke" said Riza.
"And you're still a lard ass" said Revy. "this place sure looks different now. Where is everyone?"
"We made more friends from that cafe" said Riza. "everyone else is looking for you and those other two that disappeared"
"What?" asked Revy. "you all miss my charming personality?"
"Something like that" said Riza. "where were you, anyway?"
"I've been hanging around this village" said Revy. "the people there treat me like a god"
Riza blinked. "You serious?"
"Yeah" said Revy. "feel free to bow down. I'm not insisting on it, you know"
Riza scowled when Black Hayate barked. Both Riza and Revy looked around to see that a hulking beast was no more than thirty feet away from the encampment. The hulking beast was nearly ten feet tall and had four arms. The creature looked to be a strange mix of a bird and a man. It had two flimsy-looking wings. Its skin was a charcoal black, although the legs of the creature had a grayish tint to them.
For a moment, the nomu stared at Revy and Riza then it came lumbering foward into the encampment.
"Who is the strongest one here?" demanded the nomu looking at Riza and then over at Revy. The nomu made a sound that might've been a laugh or a snort.
"What the fuck is that thing?" asked Revy.
"Apparently it's called a nomu" said Riza. "we were attacked by one earlier"
"You ran into one of my brethren did you?" asked the nomu.
"Sure did" said Riza. "and I ate him all up. He was delicious"
Revy looked at the nomu and then back at Riza. "You don't look nearly as fat enough to have swallowed someone that big"
"We can insult each other after we kill this thing" said Riza.
Revy stepped forward and spat out the cigarette in her mouth. Revy stepped on the cigarette to stomp it out while she was drawing out her guns.
"Are you the strongest--" started the nomu when Revy fired her guns at the nomu. Instead of bullets, the gun spat out a small protectile of dark, dark flames. Each of the flame-bullets ended up in the chest of the nomu. The flame-bullets had no effect for a handful of seconds.
Suddenly the nomu was engulfed by an intense black fire that looked just wrong. The black fire emitted darkness instead of light and seemed to push the natural light away from it.
"Show-off" muttered Riza. "you're a dragon and yet, you still use guns?"
Revy grinned at Riza while kissing her guns. "These guns are my babies. I wouldn't give them up for anythi--"
The nomu charged out of the black flames and hit Revy like a freight train. The skin of the nomu was covered in burns and blisters. The nomu was able to knock Revy a few feet back.
Riza charged at the nomu. The nomu was caught completely by surprise as it was sent flying through the air and into one of the Capsule houses. The nomu made a significant dent into the side of the Capsule house.
"How in the fuck did it survive my flames?!" roared Revy, getting up from the ground.
"It can regenerate itself" said Riza.
Indeed, the skin of the nomu was slowly regenerating itself.
"You gotta do more than that!" yelled the nomu, charging at Revy once again. This time, Revy fired each of her guns four times at the nomu. Like before, the nomu was engulfed in dark flames.
"Those aren't bullets" observed Riza.
"I'm out of regular bullets" growled Revy. "I'm using magic to arm them"
The nomu emerged from the flames. More than half of its body was just gone. There was a gaping hole in the chest of the nomu that went all the way down to its waist. The rest of its body was nothing but burns and blisters. It was actually a pretty disgusting sight. It glared at Revy.
"Ah, fuck it" snarled Revy. "time to turn up the heat!"
In the next moment, Revy breathed out a giant column of black fire right at the nomu. The nomu vanished into the flames. Revy kept on breathing fire until she ran out of breath.
