Riza slowly turned on the spot as she sniffed at the air again. She had thought she had smelled another homunculus besides Greed. Humans and the homunculi had very different smells, a tidbit Riza had learnt during her time in Central with the other homunculi. What homunculus was she smelling she couldn't tell....only that the homunculus was female. Which greatly confused her since the only other female homunculus had been killed off by Colonel Mustang. Unless, of course, that Father made another homunculus.
"Now what?" asked Greed who had noticed that Riza was sniffing at the air. Edward was also on guard, turning his head one way and the other way.
"You smell someone else out there?" asked Edward.
"I smell a homunculus....." said Riza quietly.
"Other than me I assume" said Greed. Riza nodded.
"I'm guessing whoever it is, they're after Greed" said Edward.
"Even if that were the case, why would they look for me here?" asked Greed. "I could be anywhere"
"You have a point there" said Edward. "Why come here anyway? I'm sure the other homunculi are busy with whatever they're scheming...and Wrath did say that Al and I could do anything as long as it doesn't interfere with their plans"
"The homunculus I'm smelling is female" said Riza.
"Lust?" asked Greed. "But she was killed off by Mustang. Wrath told me that after I noticed that Lust was missing.......unless dear Father made another Lust like he did with Gluttony here"
"Oh boy" said Edward. "Still.... I don't get it. Why would a new Lust come here? Is the smell coming closer?"
"No" said Riza.
"Let's go into the house" said Greed after a long pause.
Edward, Riza and Greed all entered the house.
"What happened to you and the MP that chased you?" asked Riza to Edward.
"He's here" said Edward. "He's tied up in the dinning room. I had some help in getting him here"
All three entered the dinning room. There were four people sitting at the table; Darius, Heinkel, the MP, and a man wearing a hat with a long feather sticking out from it.
"Who're you?" asked Greed pointing at the man with the hat.
The man hesitated before speaking. "Call me Roach"
On the table was a lute made from what looked like mahogany with gold trimming around the edges. It looked like an orindary lute.
"Roach?" asked Greed. "What kind of a name is that?"
"The kind I'm going with" replied Roach. "I'm rather cagey about speaking my real name aloud"
"And why's that?' asked Edward.
" I'm on the run from somebody extremely powerful " said Roach.
Riza looked at the MP sitting in a chair opposite of Roach. The nametag on the uniform identified the man as Captain E. Elliott. The captain seemed to be unconscious.
"Knocked him out did ya?" asked Greed, looking at Captain Elliott.
"Actually, Roach did" said Edward. "The captain here attacked Roach and....Roach played his lute and the captain just fell asleep"
"That tends to happen when people hear my lute playing" said Roach, smiling. The smile didn't quite reach his eyes. The eyes of Roach were too wide apart and a little too green to be human.
"You're not human" said Greed to Roach. It wasn't a question.
"Neither are you or the lovely woman there" said Roach, gesturing at Riza.
"How did you know that?" asked Darius.
In response, Roach tweaked his nose with his index finger.
Before anyone could say anything to that, Captain Elliott groaned as he regained consciousness. It took him a full minute to focus on his surroundings.
"Where am I?!" asked Captain Elliott looking wildly around. "How did I get here?"
"Who sent you here to get me?" asked Edward.
"One of those freaky homunculi" replied Captain Elliott, glancing at Greed and Riza.
"So you know...." started Edward.
Elliott barked out a laugh. "The MPs all know who's in charge of this country. At least the ones who works with them willingly"
"Which homunculus sent you?" asked Greed. "Was it Wrath?"
"No, not Wrath" said Elliott. "As far as I know, he doesn't know that I'm here"
There was a very pregnant pause. In the silence the sound of the front door opening intruded in the room. All eyes turned in the direction of the sound.
"I'm pretty sure I locked that" said Greed.
"Oh you did" came a feminine voice. A moment later another person entered the room.
Winry Rockbell wasn't wearing her usual clothes. She was dressed in a rather alluring dress that revealed her trim midsection for all to see. Her lips were smeared with bright red lipstick. She was also wearing fishnet stockings on her legs as well as high heels. In short, Winry oozed with sex appeal. Even her breasts looked to be much bigger than the last time that Edward had seen her last. It took Edward a few moments to notice an ourobiros tattoo located just above Winry's breasts.
"I thought I might let myself in" said Winry as one of her hands was morphing back to normal. It looked as if her hand had turned black and one of her fingers were much longer than the other ones.
"WINRY?!" asked Edward so loudly that his voice filled the whole house. "Not you too! How did they get you?! You were with Scar and the others!!"
"We all got lost in a rather brutal snowstorm somehow" said Winry. "I don't really know what happened to the others. I was saved by one of General Raven's men. I was held in Briggs for a time before I was hauled off to Central and.....well....it didn't take long before I was chosen to become the new Lust"
All that Edward could do was sputter.
