"We just want to ask your kids a few questions" said Greed stepping back a pace with raised hands in a placating manner. Riza also backed up and tried to think of unappetizing stuff. Riza mentally drooled at the thought about eating the drunken man.
The drunken man glared at Greed and then shifted his gaze at Riza.
"I don't care what you two want" said the drunken man.
Charles and his older brother walked away perhaps four dozen steps before stopping.
"Get going!" barked the drunken man to the two brothers.
Greed turned towards the brothers. "Did you happen to see anybody in a military uniform besides those two you saw earlier?"
"No" said the two brothers at the same time.
"Don't talk to them!" said the drunken man.
"Please do something" said Charles. "He abuses us every day"
Riza's stomach growled. It was getting harder to ignore her hunger. Having a shotgun pointing at her really wasn't helping. Was that gun even loaded? The man was certainly drunk enough to forget to load a gun, let alone handle one.
"Go on get my booze" said the drunken man.
"Do you...abuse your children?" asked Riza.
"None of your beeswax" said the drunken man. "They're only adopted..."
"That doesn't give you the right to abuse your--" said Riza. The drunken man aimed the gun at Riza and fired. The shotgun blast wasn't aimed good enough to hit Riza square in the chest. The shot grazed at her shoulder causing her to take four or five steps backwards. Riza's body immediately began to heal itself.
"What?" asked the drunken man lowering the shotgun.
"Yeah, big mistake" said Greed.
Riza wasn't aware of making the decision to rush at the drunken man. She collided with the drunken man and drove him to the ground. In the confusion, the gun went off again. This time the shotgun blast caught Riza in the head. The blast caused Riza to be knocked back on the man.
Riza was blasted a good foot from the man.
"Get away from me you freak" said the man.
Riza recovered and leapt on the man, pinning him down. She opened her mouth wide and engulfed the man's head into her mouth. The man was eaten along with the shotgun. When Riza was finished she stood up to notice that the two brothers were long gone.
"Satisfied?" asked Greed, smirking.
Riza said nothing but rubbed her stomach. Again, she was having that strange alien sensation of escasty having swallowed down another living meal.
Greed and Riza returned to the Rockbell house to find that Edward was there and he had fixed the damage to the house from earlier. The sun had risen by the time Greed and Riza arrived.
"Where were you two?" asked Edward.
"Gluttony here looking for some breakfast" said Greed.
Edward looked at Riza. "You mean.....you....."
"I can no longer deny what I am, Edward" said Riza.
"But....lieutenant!" sputtered Edward.
Riza sighed. "I just can't help myself. The hunger is just too strong. I'm not happy about it, believe me"
"Lieutenant..." said Edward.
