"Who would come here so early?" asked Edward to no one in particular. "It's not even six o'clock in the morning..."
Riza shrugged and jumped from the hole in the wall to the ground which was some twenty feet below. When Riza had landed on the ground she left footprints of something much larger than a human. Edward knew that Envy could turn into a large monster and he wandered if Riza could also change into a giant monster.
"What are you doing?" asked Edward loudly.
"I'm gonna investigate who's coming here" said Riza before she ran off into the night and effectively disappearing from view. Edward hestaited before coming to a decision. Edward exited the bedroom and rushed downstairs.
"What's up?" asked Greed as Edward entered the dinning room on his way outside.
"Riza said that someone is heading this way" said Edward. "I'm gonna back her up"
Before Greed could say anything, Edward was already outside.
It was easy to track down Riza thanks to the predawn light in the sky. She was hunkered down behind the small stone wall that lined the streets of Resembol such as they were. The pair was perhaps three hundred yards from the Rockbell residence.
"Where is he?" asked Edward sneaking up behind Riza.
"Up the road a ways" said Riza. "He isn't alone either. Smells like he has a chimera with him"
"What kind of chimera?" asked Edward.
"I would say wolf" said Riza.
"So he's definitely military whoever it is" said Edward in a lowered voice. "They must be after me"
Riza said nothing but moved forward.
Suddenly, Riza froze in the middle of a step. "Incoming!"
Just as Riza spoke, a large lumbering wolf emerged from the darkness and headed straight for Riza. The wolf ran on all fours but when the wolf came within reach of Riza it suddenly stood up on two feet. The wolf chimera swiped at Riza with two of its arms. The twin strikes came too fast for Riza to dodge in time. Riza hissed in pain as the attack left long gashes on her arms.
Edward clapped his hands together and added a blade to his artificial hand. He rushed at the wolf that was attacking Riza.
"Henderson?" came a voice from down the road. "Damn it, I told you to wait. We don't even know if Edward Elric is here or not"
The wolf, Henderson, was too busy dodging Riza's attack to answer. Riza was attacking the with a small knife that was on her belt. A dagger wasn't her weapon of choice.
"I got him, Ed" said Riza glancing aside at Edward as she continued to attack the chimera at close quarters.
Edward turned his attention to the incoming military person that came with Henderson. From what Edward could tell, the military man was an old gentleman that walked with a very slight limp. He wore a black uniform which identified him as a MP.
"You said you were looking for Edward Eric?" asked Edward. "Well, here I am! Come and catch me if you can!". Edward then ran off in the direction of the train station. Riza could also tell that Edward was heading for the strange-smelling person that she had smelled earlier.
The MP paused to look at the fight between Riza and Henderson before breaking into a run after Edward.

Edward could hear music from up ahead as he ran towards the train station. The music, as it turned out, came from a lute being held in the arms of a man that wore a rather flamboyant hat with a long red feather sticking out of it. The man with the lute was also wearing a light red shirt and blue jeans and immense black boots.
The man with the lute seemed to be unaware of Edward's presence until Edward was within ten feet of him. The man stopped playing the lute. There was something odd about the eyes of the man. They were too far apart.
" Who the hell are you?" asked Edward stopping short and momentarily forgot that he was being chased.
"Just a lonely Traveler" replied the man with the lute. Something in his voice added a capital T of the word traveler as if it was a title of some sort.
Before Edward could even think of a response he was grabbed from behind and whirled around by the MP that had been chasing him.
"You will come with me, Edward Elric" said the MP in a gruff voice.
"I don't think so!" said Edward swinging his blade at the MP. The MP dodged the attack left with surprising speed for a man his age.
The Traveler blinked at the situation in front of him and stepped aside and started to walk away. This caught the attention of the MP.
"Who're you?" asked the MP to The Traveler. "are you helping Elric?"
"Certainly not" said The Traveler. "I just came to this world. I know nothing about your business with this Elric person"
Both the MP and Edward looked at The Traveler who was wearing a bemused look on his face.
"You.... Came to this world?" asked the MP in confusion.
"What do you mean by 'this world' ?" asked Edward.
"I'm not sure I should tell you" said The Traveler with a thoughtful expression on his face.
