While Riza mulls over her choices, Envy was in pure shock. He hadn't appeared in that defunct Portal of Truth like when he had with that Elric brat and that Prince or whatever he was before coming the new Greed. Envy had ended up in what had to be the stomach of Riza Hawkeye but it was massive! Could it be because Riza was the new Gluttony?!
Nothing that Envy did caused a response from Gluttony. Envy sliced and sliced with transformed arms and legs at the pinkish walls of the stomach but to no avail. The walls were way too slick to climb up.
"Damn you Gluttony!" yelled Envy to the darkness.
The stomach had pools of acid everywhere but the stomach was so vast that the acid couldn't be all in one spot.
"At least I'm not trapped in that other place" said Envy. He had to be patient. An opportunity would come along to let him escape from this situation. Envy simply refused to be in the former lieutenant's bowel movement.
Riza couldn't run. If she did she would remain running for the rest of her life. On top of that she just couldn't abandon the colonel.
Riza exited the storage room and made her way towards Mustang's office. On the way she had to keep her hunger in check for everyone now looked like food to her. Even the walls and floor look like food. There was a constant voice in Riza's head that told her to eat.
By the time Riza had gotten to the office of Mustang it was approaching evening.
Riza opened the door to see that Mustang was going over paperwork mumbling under his breath just like always. Riza spent a long moment simply looking at the colonel. The room was empty ave for Mustang.
"If this is about that.....". Started Mustang glancing up from the paperwork. The words died in his mouth as he recognized Riza.
"Lieutenant?!" asked Mustang. "My god, what have they done to you?! I spent all day looking for you!"
"They made me into a homunculus, sir" said Riza. "I'm the new Gluttony"
Mustang seemed to collect himself before talking. "I see"
"I have my own mind but.... " said Riza.
"Shouldn't they be watching you?"
" Well, the one called Envy was with me" said Riza. "But....I ate him"
"Did you ask him if he was the one who killed Hughes?"
" That didn't occur to me to ask" said Riza. "My....hunger got the better of me"
Mustang thought for a moment. "You better return to the fuhrer before he gets suspicious. You are his assistant after all"
" Yes... " said Riza. "I just thought you should know about my situation"
Mustang nodded vaguely.
Riza wanted to tear up but she kept her emotions in check. She wanted to run over and hug the colonel. Wasting no time Riza snapped off a salute and exited the room.
Mustang was quivering with rage and he did an excellent job at hiding it.
