Time for bed Tiny Way to Die chapter 18 by copier · original author: wannnaone

As the evening wound down, the fire in the common room crackled softly, casting flickering shadows on the walls. Hermione closed her book with a contented sigh, stretching slightly in her chair. You, still seated awkwardly at her feet, were too drained—physically and emotionally—to do much more than watch her warily.

"Alright, Harry," she said, standing up and brushing off her robes. "It’s time for bed."

You nodded numbly, not trusting yourself to say anything. Every time you thought the day couldn’t get any stranger, Hermione found a way to surprise you.

She walked over to her trunk, rummaging through it for a moment before pulling out a pair of thick, black thigh-high socks. You raised an eyebrow, unsure why she was retrieving them now.

"Since we’re working on your conditioning," she said matter-of-factly, turning back to you, "I’ve thought of a way to keep it going while we sleep."

You blinked. "What?"

She held up one of the socks, letting it dangle from her fingers. "I’m going to tuck you into this. It’s practical, Harry. You’ll be safe and secure, and it’ll help you get more accustomed to close quarters and contact. Think of it as a continuation of what we started today."

Your mouth opened, but no words came out. Was she serious? Judging by the calm determination on her face, she absolutely was.

Before you could protest, Hermione crouched down and carefully picked you up, her hands firm yet gentle as she adjusted your position. "It’ll be fine," she reassured you. "You’ll be snug and warm, and it’ll keep you from wandering off or getting into trouble during the night."

You sighed heavily, realizing there was no arguing with her. Hermione was nothing if not persistent when she thought she was doing the right thing.

She slid the sock over her hand and stretched it open, carefully lowering you inside. Your head was pressed against the bottom of the sock, directly beneath where her foot would go, while your body was snugly wrapped against her calf. The fabric was soft but slightly constricting, leaving you with no room to move.

"There we go," she said, adjusting the sock to ensure you were secure. She wiggled her toes experimentally, her foot settling into place above your head. "Perfect. This way, you’ll stay close and continue getting used to my presence. It’s efficient, isn’t it?"

You grumbled something unintelligible, your voice muffled by the thick fabric and the close proximity to her foot. The faint, lingering smell of sweat from her day’s activities was unavoidable, and you couldn’t help but cringe.

"Don’t be so dramatic, Harry," Hermione said with a small laugh as she climbed into bed. "You’ll thank me later."

She settled under the covers, stretching her legs out and wiggling her toes once more. Each movement pressed you slightly against the sole of her foot, a constant reminder of just how surreal your situation had become.

"Goodnight, Harry," she murmured, her voice soft but firm. "Get some rest. We’ve got another big day tomorrow."

As she drifted off to sleep, you lay there in the darkness, your head firmly pressed beneath her foot, the heat and faint scent of sweat enveloping you. You sighed deeply, resigning yourself to yet another night of Hermione’s bizarre and overbearing "care." It was going to be a long, long school
