Ten Years Ago
-210 days before the apocalypse-

Raven landed on the beach of Titans Island late at night. It wasn't much of a beach. The beach was only 1 mile long and 545 yards wide at most. This late at night nobody was on the beach thankfully. Nobody was there to see Raven's bloated stomach. Nobody was there to ask awkward questions and Raven didn't have to explain just where she had been on this unseasonably warm winter night. The year had started out as unseasonably warm but it wouldn't last.

Raven stayed on the beach for ten minutes. She couldn't believe that she had lost control of her demonic side again. Throughout her life Raven struggled with her demonic side. For the most part she had succeeded but there were the occasional slip-ups...like tonight.
One hour earlier, Raven had flown to a relatively remote city to personally deal with criminals. She had dealt with the criminals in ways that would horrify her friends...well, perhaps not Damien. Raven had dragged one troublesome hooligan underneath her cloak and had teleported him to...somewhere. Even Raven didn't knew just where she had sent the unfortunate man and perhaps that was for the best. Raven did bring the man back and the man had ran away from her in sheer terror. She had actually enjoyed the sight of the man running away in terror.
The next few victims of Raven had ended up going down her throat. Those hooligans had tasted just exquisite especially when they were filled with such horror. And that's when Raven snapped out of the spell and she was horrified for what she had done. She could do nothing to stop it. What was most disturbing that she, Raven, had felt no remorse after devouring living people. Yes they had been criminals but they didn't deserve that fate.
Raven had flown back to Titan Tower as fast as she could. She had landed on the beach so that she could digest the people in her gut in peace. The tower was surrounded by surveillance robots and there were security cameras everywhere that would record Raven having a huge stomach. Her teammates would ask questions that Raven had no interest in answering.
Raven floated in the air in a lotus position while entering a trance-like state.

The next thing that Raven knew a football was coming right at her. Raven reached out her hands and stopped the football from hitting her in the head.
Raven opened her eyes to see it was morning. It was still early judging by the light in the sky. Raven turned her head to see Garfield running towards her. Raven moved her cloak in order to hide her still bloated belly from view.

"Raven, sorry!" called out Beast Boy...or was it Changeling? The young green-skinned teen kept on changing his name from week to week. "didn't see you there"

Raven could think up nearly two dozen comebacks to say to the shape-changing Garfield but the only thing that came out of her mouth was a massive belch. Raven slapped a hand over her mouth in embarrassment.

"Whoa," exclaimed Garfield. "that was an epic belch, Raven. Didn't know you could do that"

"Er, yeah" replied Raven. "thanks I guess"

Raven sent the football flying off and Garfield went after it. As Raven launched the ball into the air she could've sworn that she saw something in the sky. Raven spent a few minutes looking around in the air looking for whatever she had seen. Raven wasn't totally sure but she thought she had seen a chair floating high in the air. It had looked like...
Raven's thoughts were interrupted by another loud belch. This time she coughed up a shoe that was covered in stomach acid and salvia. Raven neatly jumped out of her skin at the sight. Raven looked around to make sure nobody was around and then surrounded the shoe by a magic sphere and then made it disappear.

Raven sighed and climbed to her feet. The island that the tower was on was not quite six miles in diameter. The tower itself was in the middle of a fledging forest on top of a high raise.
Raven flew to the tower. She landed right in front of the door. She approached the door as she pulled out a security card with her magic from a pocket on the inside of her cloak.
Before Raven could open the door herself, the door opened suddenly and several people came running out. The first to leave the building was the newcomer to the Teen Titans, Damien Wayne, dressed in his Robin suit. Damien shared the briefest of looks with a startled Raven before running off.
The second to exit the building was Jamie Reyes. Jamie didn't even notice Raven as he rushed passed her, shouting out what Raven recognized as Spanish curse words.
The last person to exit the building was a teen simply known as Garth, AKA Aqualad. Garth was walking, not running. Aqualad didn't spare Raven a glance as he looked to be still battling staying awake.
Raven strolled down a short corridor to the elevator and pressed the call button. On the way to the elevator Raven passed by a full-length mirror. She had stopped dead in her tracks because of what she saw in the mirror. The reflection showed Raven with red skin and with four red eyes. The reflection had a devilish grin on the face. The reflection of the altered Raven lasted for only a handful of seconds.
"I'm still me" whispered Raven as she waited for the elevator to open. The doors to the elevator opened and Raven walked in and pressed the topmost button.
A few moments later, the elevator doors opened and a sight greeted Raven. Nightwing, one of the leaders of the Teen Titans, was kissing a woman wearing clothes that had mix-matched colors of red and black.
Harley Quinn had left the Joker six years previously and had turned to the light side...kinda, sorta. Harley had her skirts with the law ever since leaving the Joker. Harley was a mixed bag in Raven's opinion.
Raven cleared her throat loudly as to gain the attention of the kissing pair. Nightwing broke off the kiss with Harley.

"Man, what a buzz-kill" said Harley in mock anger, glaring at Raven. Nightwing pulled Harley from blocking the elevator that allowed Raven to exit the elevator. Raven stepped off the elevator and studied the pair for a moment before she spoke.
"Cheating on Starfire, Dick?" asked Raven with a raised eyebrow.

"One of the many bonuses on having an open relationship" said Harley, stepping into the elevator before the doors could close with a huge grin on her face. Harley blew a kiss at Nightwing as the doors to the elevator closed.

Raven looked at Nightwing and then walked down the hallway to her room.

"Went on a solo patrol last night?" asked Nightwing catching up to Raven.

"Yeah," replied Raven. "got a problem with that?"

"Not really" said Nightwing. "I know you can take care of yourself"

"Yeah.." said Raven as she adjusted her cloak so that Nightwing couldn't see her bloated stomach.

M'gann floated out of the closed door to her room as Raven and Nightwing passed by it. M'gann stopped Nightwing in order to talk to him as Raven continued to walk to her room.

Once in her room, Raven breathed a sigh of relief. That sigh turned into a gasp of terror as she saw what was written on the wall. The words were glowing red in big, bold letters.

THE END OF THE WORLD NEARS

The words were surrounded in both mythical symbols and demonic symbols. There were also what looked to be four red eyes looking directly at Raven.

"No!" cried Raven, falling to her knees. Raven had recognized those hateful eyes on the wall. The eyes vanished from the wall and so did the writing.

YOUR PURPOSE IS NEARING, MY DEAR DAUGHTER boomed a voice in the room. A voice that Raven hadn't heard for the longest time. A voice that she was hoping not to hear ever. The voice of her father. Trigon was coming.
