It was late evening when Gwen and Mystique appeared in the champion's quarters. The two emerged from in a puff of smoke that deposited them in the middle of the room. The puff of smoke disappeared in short order.
"I guess that worked" said Gwen in a faint voice as she looked around the otherwise empty room.
A few minutes earlier Gwen had discovered that each of The Warbound had in their possession an infinity Lstone. When it became clear that The Warbound had indeed recovered the infinity gauntlet it was decided that the gems and the gauntlet should be separated so that even if the gauntlet was recovered by The Collector or Grandmaster it would prove useless without the gems powering it.
Mystique had the space gem which allowed Gwen and her to be teleported to Gwen's private quarters. The other Warbound each had a gem;
Mystique has the space gem.
Jennifer has the power gem.
Kamala has the soul gem.
Rogue has the reality gem.
Shadowcat has the time gem.
Nightcrawler has the mind gem.
One would think that removing the gems from the gauntlet would be impossible, but then, the gems were far more older than the gauntlet According to The Warbound removing the gems took little effort.
None of the Warbound actually tried wearing the gauntlet with all six gems attached. It took them weeks to fully attune to the gems they all possessed. All of them apparently had lots of fun with the powers the gems had given them; especially Rogue since she could remove her powers with the reality gem and thus she could touch people without fear of putting anyone into a coma.
It was Gwen who used the space gem to teleport herself and Mystique to her private quarters in the city. When Gwen had first touched the gem she felt a great surge of power and knowledge flooding into her. In less than a minute Gwen had learnt just how to use the gem. With the gem she could go anywhere on Sakaar from the city to the outer wilds of the planet. Unfortunately Earth was too far away for the gem to transport Gwen there. If the space gem had been on the infinity gauntlet it wouldn't have been a problem.
It had been Gwen that suggested her returning to the city to avoid trouble with Grandmaster.
"Nice place" said Mystique.
"Much better than the room I had" said Gwen. Gwen held up the purple space gem to her eye to examine it. For just a moment she looked to be transfixed looking at the gem.
"Gwen?"
Gwen snapped out of the spell and looked over at Mystique who was in front of the window that overlooked the city of Sakaar.
"What?" asked Gwen.
"Just how -- "
A knock at the door interrupted Mystique. Before Gwen or Mystique could do much more than look at the closed door to the room, the door opened upwards to let in an elite guard. The guard marched right into the room and walked straight at Gwen. The guard completely ignored Mystique until he was well into the room. After the door had opened and it was clear that the guard was totally ignoring her, Mystique had shifted her appearance to a female elite guard. The form that Mystique had shifted to was a tall humanoid alien.
"Yes?" asked Gwen to get the guard's attention. The guard turned his head towards Gwen.
"Ah, the Grandmaster would like to see you, champion" said the guard. "you're to meet him at the arena at his apartment there"
"Now?" asked Gwen. "is there a challenger for us?"
The guard shrugged his shoulders. "That is beyond my knowledge, champion...and besides the point I might add. I'm to escort you there"
"Let's go then" said Mystique. "we shouldn't keep His Excellency waiting"

The Grandmaster had an apartment at the arena. It was high above the floor of the arena and far above the seating meant for the common rabble that inhabited the planet. It would be called a skybox on Earth for it served the same function. It was for the Grandmaster alone and any of his servants that included the champion of the arena. Special guests were allowed in the private apartment.
The apartment itself contained three large rooms that could be turned into just one large room. The apartment consisted of all sorts of furniture for guests to sit at as well as a refrigerator unit for food storage and a place to prepare such food. Three dozen people could easily fit into the room with all the seating available in it.
"I've been enjoying these matches more than I thought I would" said Tivan. Tivan's eyes were locked on the current match going on the arena floor; a rock alien versus a humanoid male. Both combatants were armed with a wicked-looking axe and both were wearing armor.
"The search for the infinity gauntlet has proven most difficult" said Grandmaster. "The Recorder has assured me that it's on Sakaar for sure"
"If anybody had it," said Tivan. "I'm sure we would know by now"
Both Tivan and Grandmaster were sitting on the opposite ends of a long couch that could easily hold six more people. The couch were mere feet away from the balcony that overlooked the arena. The apartment had a dozen guards in it who promised death to any unauthorized person that entered the room.
"I would've thought you must have a device that kept track on any stolen items in your possession" said Grandmaster after a lengthy pause.
"I did" replied Tivan. "The gauntlet had several bugs on it that would keep track of it should it fall out of my hands. Somebody removed them from the gauntlet. Whoever stole the gauntlet was smart"
"And there isn't any surveillance on who stole it?" asked Grandmaster.
Tivan pulled out what looked to be a tablet from an inner pocket. He fiddled with the tablet for a handful of minutes before a hologram was projected in front of the pair. The hologram showed an extreme close-up of a glass display case on a pedestal. There were five people surrounding it; all of them wore the same clothing. The five people were all slender and had two swords strapped to their backs.
"This was the only image I could savage from the camera" said Tivan. "they didn't show up on any other camera I had. You haven't seen any of these mysterious thieves have you?"
"Not that I --" said Grandmaster finally turning to face the hologram. "heh. Fascinating"
"What?"
"If I didn't know better, these thieves look just like my champion of the arena" said Grandmaster. "but she has no swords"
"That is interesting" said Tivan thoughtfully.
The door to the apartment opened to allow a guard to walk in. Grandmaster and Tivan turned to look in time to see a certain ferret-like alien leap from the open hands of the guard to the back of the couch.
"Xacandar" said Grandmaster. "where have you been?"
Xacandar didn't answer the Grandmaster for he was looking at the hologram. "That the thief who nabbed the infinity gauntlet?"
"Thieves, as in plural" corrected Tivan. "yeah, that's them alright. Why?"
"Because I'm about to make your day" said Xacandar who smiled and showed all of his teeth.
