Pet Store Tod the squishy boy chapter 4 by orangewithlegs

Tod books it at the pet store. Why a pet store? Honestly, it was a really good-paying job, and he was allowed to not work with cats and dogs, which would be his biggest worry. Tod was working with fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and the small mammals, at worse he has to deal with a macaw or monkey.

Tod gets there in the nick of time, heading inside, he heads up to his boss, Cain, a 31-year-old African American man, who is done with everybody's shit, he has lost his love for life, and now he just does not care. 

"Hey, Cain, ready for my first day of work?" Tod says enthusiastically, excited for cute animals and good pay

"Oh, hey, you're that squishy kid we hired," he says in a monotone voice

"Yep"

"Oh, okay, get the apron on and report to Blair"
