You really wanted to be sent back home to your mom. Being back with her would make everything fine and there would be no more worries. But it didn't sit well with you knowing that if you got sent back, your mother would be taking care of two shrunken people instead of one. Your sister needed to be taken care of without any kind of worry from your mom if she took care of you both. And the businesswoman that captured you at the airport seemed to have good intentions (at least now but she seemed honest when she apologized), plus knowing her name was also good too. As much as you wanted to go back home, it was probably best if Nicole did take care of you for the time being. Who knows how long this whole shrinking pandemic would take to getting back to normal.

"Nicole, I would appreciate it if you took care of me," you said.

"I'm glad you came to your senses, Steve," said Nicole, knowing that she was right. "And I promise to make sure that you are in perfect health and that you have a perfect life here with me."

"Thank you, Nicole," you said, feeling grateful. "But do I have to be in this bird cage?"

"For now, yes. Until I can find something suitable for your living arrangements, this will have to do. As for your food, I can give you some scraps of food off of my plate whenever I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And, of course, I will put a water bowl in your cage. Now for hygiene, I will have to figure that out. But for going potty, I can put a small potty mat inside where you can do your business. And I do want one thing from you."

"Like what?" you asked, wondering and hoping it's not something bad.

"All I want is for you not to escape. Like I said, I saved you. I may be thirty-two years old, but I have way more experience than you think; in my life and when I take care of people. I've taken care of many of my nephews and nieces. Including many pets. You... are no different. So, in exchange for giving you a loving home, my undivided attention, and me as your beautiful and sexy caretaker/owner, you will not escape. Deal?"

"Deal," you answered, feeling scared that you will probably neve get to see your family ever again. She got what she wanted at the beginning (you being her pet) but maybe she will be more gentle after what happened.

"Good," Nicole said, with a bright smile on her face. "Now, I'm going to go and cook some food for us. You just hang out here and enjoy yourself. Tonight, we are going to have some fun."

And just like that, she went to the kitchen but not before closing the door behind you; leaving you in the bird cage. You weren't sure how long she would keep you here in her home but you didn't have many options. With the world as it is right now, you hoped for the best as things would soon get back to normal; or normal... ish.
